Cake Lingerie – A Slice of Heaven

September 7, 2009 by Mandolina

We introduced you to Cake’s maternity lingerie about a year ago, and now we have photos and a great video of their brand new 2009 collection. Cake Lingerie introduces a fresh & playful collection of Maternity & Nursing Lingerie which celebrates pregnancy and femininity. It’s a great blend of luxury and function through contemporary design, quality fabrics and superior workmanship.

Distinctive design is characterised by unpadded, elegant sized cups, low centre fronts & delicately refined cup cover for great shape, support & versatility of outer wear.

The collection is called ‘Mother in Nature’ and all the bras and knickers are lined with a soft organic cotton. For every set sold we give the customer a Free lingerie bag made in the same fabric of the set.

HOTmilk Controversy and New Collection

September 6, 2008 by Kelly

Do you remember the media storm that occurred last year in response to HOTmilk ads? It was, as Mandolina reported, silly that anyone would think that maternity lingerie should be modeled on women who weren’t even pregnant. But it caused a huge uproar!

Amanda Bere and HOTmilk mannequin

It’s been more than a year, and we thought that the controversy had died down, but it seems that it hasn’t. Amanda Bere, who owns H&J Lingerie Co. of Shelby North Yorkshire, put pretty HOTmilk lingerie on a pregnant mannequin on display in her store’s window. She was surprised when local residents and other shops complained that the display was offensive and wanted it removed from the window. Even putting a camisole on the mannequin didn’t ease the complaints, so Bere finally took down the display. When local mothers learned why the display was removed, they were rightfully appalled. Pregnancy is a beautiful, natural time in a woman’s life! Do people really think that pregnant and nursing women shouldn’t be sexy? How ridiculous!

The good news is, for all you beautiful mothers-to-be out there, HOTmilk has just released a gorgeous new collection of maternity and nursing lingerie. I smiled as I looked at every new piece. This is how pregnant and nursing women should be treated! We have a sneak peek at the stunning new sets – they’re not even on the website yet! Check out these fun photos:

These styles will start showing up at your favorite retailers soon, so keep an eye out! You can find stockists on the HOTmilk website if you’re not sure where to go. Figleaves UK also carries some styles.

Amoralia Lingerie Wins Fashion Award 2008

June 15, 2008 by Mandolina

The UK Fashion Exports Awards 2008 have been announced and Amoralia Ltd., the luxury line of maternity wear, has won the Lingerie and Beachwear Award. It is not hard to understand why this label won the award with its beautiful, quality-consciousamoralia maternity lingerie undergarments. Both the Reglisse and Angelica lines of swimwear are sexy, functional and fashionable for pregnant women. Made to expand with the woman’s bump, the bottoms sport convenient side ties and both the bottoms and tankini are fully lined for discretion.

Nursing camisoles as well as loungewear are included in this collection as garments are offered from the beginning of a pregnancy until after, during nursing stages. Gorgeous bras and panties with fine details and fancy ribbons, comfortable nightwear in long pant sets or nightdresses, and even supportive maternity thongs make up the full line.

Lastly, the company website has an extensive fitting guide. It shows pictures of how to measure properly, it offers conversions from UK sizing to other international sizing, and it equates the sizes with the weeks in a pregnancy. Although the return policy is excellent, Amoralia offers many ways in which to avoid buying the wrong size with its detailed “common problems” section.

Condessa: Exciting Breastfeeding Lingerie

May 25, 2008 by Brenda

Any woman that has nursed her children knows the difficulties all mothers face in finding lingerie that makes them feel good about themselves while at the same time being practical for the women and their babies to use. In other words, the lingerie must be sexy, luxurious and nursing-accessible.

Since 2006, CondessaCondessa Mini Silver Breastfeeding Lingerie Los Angeles, has been filling the gap in this much-needed sector of the lingerie industry. A team who believes that “Breastfeeding is Beautiful”, Condessa provides “the fine breastfeeding lingerie that nursing mothers deserve”. In the short time that the company has created nursing lingerie, it has grown to become a high profile label with features in many magazines, television shows, and distribution throughout the world. Dozens of retail boutiques and online stores offer the brand that includes two collections, the Cassandra and the Veronica.

The Cassandra Nursing Bra with its patent pending design and matching panties is one of the sexiest, stylish, practical and most comfortable nursing bras on the market. In seven rich and alluring colors, Captivating Mocha, Tempting Rose,Condessa Pearl Breastfeeding Bikini Set Seductive Sunset, Enticing Turquoise, Rapturous Grape, Ravishing Red, and Alluring Black, this wonderful collection includes the front snap nursing bra, bikini panty, briefs, thong, shorts, and minimizer briefs.

Meticulously detailed, the Cassandra line offers bras with pretty pearl closures, three-quarter cups, plenty of lace, eighteen percent spandex, no underwire, and wide, soft satin shoulder straps. The matching panties are cotton lined inside with pretty lace on the outside coupled with a hint of spandex for fit and durability. They are made to fit comfortably during pregnancy and after. And the minimizer briefs are high waisted with reinforced front panel and delicate lace inserts.

In addition to the Cassandra Lace line of garments, there is also a Cassandra Smooth with the same pretty detailing and excellent features absent of lace. The bras are a molded, seamless design in microfiber to give a very smooth appearance.

The Veronica Collection offers aCondessa Chocolate Breastfeeding Set more daring design with the demi-cup bra, underwire support, and a sleeker fitting panty. It is available in bolder metallic colors that shimmer of motherhood. Intense colors called Shimmering Pearl, Treasured Copper, Precious Chocolate, and Sparkling Silver look lavish and regal. The bra is made of molded, seamless, Shimmering Miliskin microfiber and conveniently unclips at the satin shoulder strap. The matching panties are offered in bikini, brief or minimizer styling.

Bra sizes come in 32C to 40E but the panties are only available in sizes four through ten. This seems quite odd as many women would not be that small and could not benefit from having matched sets. It may be that sizes run large but there is no chart with which to compare. They do have a toll free number and a customer service page so it might be wise to call or email first.

Magazines that have highlighted Condessa include Beauty & Style, Mothering, I’m Pregnant, Canadian Family, Underlines, Celebrity Baby Clothes and Mommies with Style.
