Bounce! Bounce! Bounce!

September 22, 2011 by Kelly

Panache Sportsbra
The panache sports bra that reduces bounce by 65 per cent.

Sound familiar? If you’ve ever run down a flight of stairs, jumped rope with your nieces, or tried a Zumba class, you’re no doubt familiar with that bouncing feeling. But Panache, a favorite brand among busty ladies, believes they have a remedy for that unsightly and painful bounce with their brand new sports bra.

The bra, slated to be released on October 1, is three years in the making. After extensive research, head designer Clare Fallon and her team at Panache enlisted the help of Loughborough Sports Technology Institute in Leicestershire. During their studies, the team outfitted a 32E model with 3-D motion sensors and set her to work on a treadmill. They found that while rival sports bras reduce bounce by a respectable 65%, the new Panache sports bra is even more effective with a bounce reduction of 83%. And if you look at this photo of British javelin thrower Goldie Sayers modeling the bra, I think you’ll agree that it somehow still manages to be one of the more attractive options out there! It also features a clip that allows you to convert the bra to a racerback style, so you can still wear it with your favorite workout tanks.

Most conventional sports bras use compression to press the breast tissue down against the rib cage. Panache instead opted to use an encapsulation style, which holds each breast separately in molded cups and controls movement from all angles. They claim that the product is as effective as “two hands holding the breasts.” (You can’t tell me you haven’t wished you could hold your boobs yourself while running!)

Interested? The bra will be available in D-H cups, and will set you back about £35. Basic black and white will be the first available in October, but you’ll have to wait until November for fashion colors. The style has so far only been referred to as simply “Panache Sports Bra.”

Are there any sports you’ve avoided because your sports bra didn’t offer enough support?

Spanish Soccer Team Real Madrid Launches Lingerie Line

December 4, 2009 by Bruna

It hasn’t even been a month since West Ham United said it would be selling a limited number of the soccer-inspired lingerie set Katy Perry wore while hosting the MTV Europe Music Awards and the idea has already inspired other soccer teams to create their own undies. Now it’s the Real Madrid team that will be selling some lingerie, and it’s not just one look, it’s an entire line.

The line is called Luxe and will have styles for both men and women. There will be slips, bras and undies for the ladies, and boxers for the men. Styles come in basic cotton and a surprisingly lovely black tulle. Those who desire to sport the team’s logo on their bums will get the chance to nab these pieces beginning in March. Check out some of what’s to come below!

Katy Perry’s Sexy Soccer Look For Sale

November 27, 2009 by Bruna

When sassy singer Katy Perry hosted the MTV Europe Music Awards earlier this month she showed up wearing a strapless corset lingerie set constructed with T-shirts from boyfriend Russell Brand’s favorite East London soccer club, West Ham United. Due to an overwhelmingly positive public response, West Ham jumped on the opportunity to capitalize on the new trend and will be offering a limited number of the look to its fans. The initial run will include 50 sets priced at approximately $480 a pop. It will only be available on a pre-order basis.

The sporty lingerie set—which includes hot pants with the name “Rusty” on the behind in honor of Brand’s support of the club—was designed by freelance celebrity stylist and costume designer Siobhan Dillon who explained to West Ham how she pulled the whole thing together: “I used the collars along the top of the brassiere and used the two badges on the front. I had a team of three girls working with me on the outfit. It was made entirely from three shirts, but we had to take the Airtex out and replace it with some lining.”

Foxers back in the news

March 14, 2009 by Rene

In our archives, you can find Krista reporting on Foxers. Foxers are underwear for women with a waistline taken from boxers for men. They are certainly cuter than the clinical description. If you didn’t read the article from the archives, here is a quick summary of what Foxers offers.

  1. Bstrings are a very ironic design. The last thing anyone expects below the boxer style waistband is a pair of thong panties! The soft cotton and comfortable design have converted many non-thong wearers to Bstrings. Give them a try!
  2. Boy Shorts (my favorite) are essentially girl’s boxer briefs and our answer to boxer shorts for women. They are equally suited for laying around the house on Sunday or wearing out with your favorite low rise jeans on Friday night. Let them show just a touch.
  3. Lace Veda Boxers are ultra feminine and contrast the masculine top with the lace bottoms. They were originally designed for April’s friend Veda but other friends were so excited about the sample that they never made it to her! Don’t worry she has several pair now. The lace is soft and stretches to provide a comfortable fit. Veda loves them and so will you.

So why is Foxers back on the TLP front page? Foxers is the official supplier of the US Lingerie Football League. The “uniform” for this league appears to be the Foxers boy shorts with team name as the waistband. You can buy Atlanta Steam (red), Dallas Desire (cowboy blue), Phoenix Scorch, San Diego Seduction, New England Euphoria, and others from the LFL Store for $32 US. Who knows how long this league might last, so you may want to place your orders now.

If you are really a fan, or maybe want to play up to your man’s interest in sports jerseys, full replicas are available for $175.

The league starts in September of 2009.

The Lingerie Football League

October 11, 2008 by Kelly

LFL_logo.jpgIt isn’t often we have articles on TLP that cater to sports fans! You may have heard of the Lingerie Bowl: a pay-per-view halftime show for the Super Bowl featuring scantily clad women playing their own football game. But now that halftime show has grown into the 10-team Lingerie Football League! These franchise teams will play games of 7-on-7 tackle football, encouraged by cheerleaders also wearing lingerie.

Last year, the Lingerie Bowl was canceled. The promoters didn’t process the permits in time and football fans were disappointed when the only football game of the day was the actual Super Bowl. But now, the Lingerie Bowl is back on track and has grown into a whole league, the LFL, with team names like the San Diego Seduction, Phoenix Scorch, Tampa Breeze, LA Temptation, Miami Caliente, Chicago Bliss, and Dallas Desire. The Staples Center has already been booked for the LA squad, and the Seattle Mist hopes to play at the Key Arena in the Seattle Center (once home to the Seattle SuperSonics).

The players will earn more than $40,000 annually, according to the league’s creator, Mitch Mortazza. If you want to play in the league, there is a link on the LFL’s website. The LFL’s Myspace page also has information on intern positions. The schedule for the LFL will be released in April 2009.
