Bordelle Taps US Market

November 21, 2010 by Bruna

Ever since we posted about Bordelle’s spring/summer 2010 collection on TLP, I’ve been obsessed with finding out more about the edgy Brit brand and how I can get my hands on its lingerie in the U.S. It turns out that Bordelle is about to make a huge splash in the American market.

For one, upscale emporium Coco de Mer took on the line to be distributed from all of its stores, including the one in New York that opened last month. There you can snatch the Angela cage dress ($565), the webbed thong ($150) and the Meryl harness ($170). And beginning in May, two looks from the spring/summer collection will be sold at Victoria’s Secret stores as part of the retailer’s Designer Collections. Here are the two looks that VS chose:

Bordelle can already be found at London’s elite department stores including Selfridges and Liberty, but admits that the U.S. counterparts proved more difficult to conquer. “Wary of the unclassifiable nature of bodywear items and their ability to gain commercial momentum, American retailers opted out for the first season, paving the way for those with an online presence to cash in on the underwear as outerwear concept. But when the likes of nancymeyer.com sold out and client requests started to pour in, the others decided it was time to follow suit and ride the trend wave,” says a Bordelle press release.

The brand has already graced the covers of the major fashion mags including Vogue and Elle and is a favorite of Lady Gaga and Rihanna.

Vera Wang’s Light and Airy Collection

September 21, 2010 by Bruna

While online window-shopping, I decided to check out Vera Wang since I hadn’t done so in a while. Her designs are always so unbelievable and never cease to amaze me. The current sleepwear and foundations selection available on the Web site appears to be so light and airy that it’s almost as if the pieces are just going to float right out of the screen… or so I wish!

The prices are actually fairly reasonable, $20 for the least expensive piece (contrast band thong) and $92.50 for the most expensive (ballet gown).

Jessica Simpson for Red Carter Swim Collection

July 21, 2010 by Bruna

Jessica Simpson has collaborated with luxury swimwear brand Red Carter to produce a new swim collection that was inspired by her favorite vacations and the jet-setting getaways she dreams about. “From the nautical seashores here at home, to hot Havana nights or the bold colors you’d think of in an exotic foreign land, the line is fun and flirty, but still so classic,” she told Stylelist. “I’m always inspired by my fans and I want my clothes to be pieces that women feel confident wearing anywhere.”

Separates range between $40 and $50, while suits retail between $80 and $100.  The line is now available at select Macy’s stores across the U.S. and on the Jessica Simpson Collection Web site.

Fred & Ginger has created a superbly sweet collection called My Fair Lady for the spring/summer 2010 season. The brand’s designs always have its emphasis focused on the glamour and sophistication of the 50’s and this collection is no different.

The flirty line, which is perfect for Valentine’s Day, features French silk satins, crinkle chiffons and Chantilly lace pieces embellished with polka dots, ruffles and bows.
