When sassy singer Katy Perry hosted the MTV Europe Music Awards earlier this month she showed up wearing a strapless corset lingerie set constructed with T-shirts from boyfriend Russell Brand’s favorite East London soccer club, West Ham United. Due to an overwhelmingly positive public response, West Ham jumped on the opportunity to capitalize on the new trend and will be offering a limited number of the look to its fans. The initial run will include 50 sets priced at approximately $480 a pop. It will only be available on a pre-order basis.
The sporty lingerie set—which includes hot pants with the name “Rusty” on the behind in honor of Brand’s support of the club—was designed by freelance celebrity stylist and costume designer Siobhan Dillon who explained to West Ham how she pulled the whole thing together: “I used the collars along the top of the brassiere and used the two badges on the front. I had a team of three girls working with me on the outfit. It was made entirely from three shirts, but we had to take the Airtex out and replace it with some lining.”
