Katie Green was the winner of Wonderbra’s recent search to find a “real woman” spokesmodel for the new D-G range. The 21-year old’s picture was on the mosaic ad formed with thousands of images of women in the new range, with the tagline “D-G. Because we’re more than a handful.”The problem came after Wonderbra picked her. Green broke the contract with Wonderbra when she was asked to lose two stone and drop from a UK size 12 to a size 8-10. The size 30F beauty said of the news, “I really didn’t know where my career was going to go after the depression of being told I was too fat…Had I lost the two stone, I would have looked like a bag of bones. I won’t sacrifice my health.”
Despite her weight being too much for Wonderbra, Ultimo snapped Green up immediately. Michelle Mone, creator of Ultimo, said,
“I was appalled to hear that Katie was told she was too fat to model lingerie. She has an
incredible shape and represents real women throughout the UK. We’re delighted to have her on board – I’m sure she’ll be a huge success and a wonderful ambassador for Ultimo…Katie’s figure is beautiful and she looks so sexy in our latest designs.”
It looks like Wonderbra really screwed up this time. If you want a thinner model, why hold a competition to find a more full-figured woman?
