Leather Lingerie

Love from Holland (Actually from Holland)

September 9, 2008 by Rene

Mail and Female are an Amsterdam based “Love Shop” — providing adult toys and other products. To supplement their lingerie collection, Mail and Female began a relationship with Love from Holland. Love from Holland is nearly the “house brand” for Mail and Female, but the product is available from other retailers including Second Sexe in France as well as several other brick and mortar retailers. As a lingerie brand, Love from Holland focuses on pieces for the boudoir rather than pieces for everyday wear. Here’s a silhouette of their Basic Lovestyle collection.

Currently, Love from Holland is showing the Basic Lovestyle and the R & B collection. These pictures are from both collections.

Some of the other erotic pieces need to be reviewed directly including the Finger String, Slitt String (sic), and the Sein Nue bra. Go here for the English version of the ecommerce site. The knickers run about € 27.50 (about 40 US or about 22 UK). Bras run from € 30 – 50 (about 45 – 80 US, 22 – 40 UK). The pieces remind me of Naughty Janet with a modern lingerie company’s fascination with the ouvert knicker.

Accessories for the Boudoir – Masks and Blindfolds

March 28, 2008 by Rene

The most common accessory for the boudoir is probably stockings to go with a suspender belt, followed by an elegant necklace, or some killer shoes. However, the mask may be the perfect complement to go with a special lingerie outfit. Often lingerie is about what it covers up rather than what it reveals and the mask is an extension of that fantasy. Masks and blindfolds are increasingly popular. Spoylt offers many blindfolds and likes to consider the blindfold as a dual purpose tool. First, it is blindfold, but turn it around, and it makes a lovely belt too. The Envy Robe is 50% off of the regular $395 price. That could be an expensive blindfold, but it does come with a lovely robe. The Innocence blindfold appears to be a padded blindfold with a long sash. Spoylt even shows it working overtime as a belt for your jeans.

Agent Provocateur can always be counted on for the cheekiest of boudoir accessories and they have their own spin on the blindfold. The picture will have to speak a thousand words in this case, but you can pick up this mask for $85.

If you like the idea of a mask (visible eyes) instead of just a blindfold, Three Wishes offers masks that range from $10 to $120. This is the Rocolo Mask. It is handcrafted with delicate sequence detail on the mask with elaborate hanging beads at the top of the mask, and a full crown bead detail for the bottom of the mask.

Madame Khufu hand crafts all masks in leather. These creations often extend into wispy tentacles and saucy horn shapes. Pictures below are the Medusa, Notorious, and Deep Roller. They range in price from $40 to $90. Madame Khufu is an artisan accessories shop and you can visit their site for more masks.

Vollers Corsets

February 19, 2008 by Kelly

Vollers is an English corset company that we haven’t more than mentioned before on The Lingerie Post, but has beenVollers Corsets around for over 100 years! The family-owned company began in 1899 when Henry Voller left school and learned the art of corset making at Totterdell and Sons in Portsmouth. He started the business with his wife, Nelly, who was already a corsetiere. The company is now owned by Ian Voller and his wife Corina, who are the fourth generation of Vollers (and the first husband-and-wife team since Harry and Nelly). Ian Voller sent TLP a bit of history about the company:

“We are probably the oldest established corset makers in the world today. My great-grandfather handed the business down to my grandfather and he handed it on to my father and uncle. They worked together and then after World War II, when my father came back, he took over the shop and my uncle ran the factory…eventually [my uncle] became ill with a tumour on the brain and he was unable to continue. He had it run as a retirement business with six machinists working on just three days a week. In 1991 we took it over. All our friends thought we were mad, they couldn’t understand what we were doing getting involved in a factory producing corsets.”

Vollers CorsetsOf course I’m glad they did, though, and I’m sure they are too: the business has steadily grown and has expanded by 800% in recent years! Vollers supplies Selfridges, Rigby & Peller, and there is even one available on Figleaves UK (with glowing reviews, I might add!) And as for the future of the company? Ian said,

“We are just about to team up with a top wedding dress design company so that will be an exciting new departure for us…I hope there will always be a place for corsets – we have been going for more than 100 years so I don’t see why we shouldn’t continue for a long while yet.”

When shopping for a Vollers corset, deduct between two and four inches from your waist measurement to get the right size, and made-to-measure corsets are available. Vollers also has a brand-new showroom open, so you can see your corset before you buy and get personalized help. I know you’re anxious to see the jaw-dropping photos by now, so here they are:

YumDrop.com – “naughty when you wanna be”

September 21, 2007 by Kelly

YumDrop.comI’ve recently been introduced to a great new lingerie site: YumDrop.com. The motto of YumDrop is “naughty when you wanna be” and the site lives up to the slogan!

The wide variety of styles is refreshing; while some could be candidates for our “Trashy, Slutty…. Yet interesting!” forum topic, there are just as many pieces that are classy and YumDrop Bridal Babydollpretty – so you can be naughty when you wanna be and nice when you wanna be! You will have no trouble finding charmuese and lace bridal babydolls, shirred bustiers, lace-up open-cup chemises, camigarters with cherry prints, leopard print babydolls, leather bustiers, and fishnets that make it look like you have ankle tattoos – all on one site! You can also find swimsuits and shoes on YumDrop – and I was delighted to find that the shoe section has the same wide variety as the main focus of the site (lingerie!). There are naughty nurse platform boots and marabou sandals, but there are also sexy Mary Jane pumps and rhinestone sandals perfect for a night out. YumDrop’s real strength is offering such aYumDrop Marabou Sandals wide variety of pretty, sexy things, with sometimes daring designs, at very palatable prices.

While the pieces available on YumDrop.com are affordable, they still rival far more expensive brands as far as design and style goes – and the site offers these unique items in a way that is completely comprehensible, easy to navigate, and refreshingly thorough. There are multiple views available for most products, so you can see how a product looks from different angles or in different colors (on the product page, just hold your mouse over the view you want to see), as well as prominently displayed sizing charts to help you navigate incongruent sizing between brands and styles. This is especiallyYumDrop size chart helpful because many of the pieces available are decidedly for wearing at home, and don’t use standard sizing simply because support isn’t much of an issue with something you won’t wear every day. But YumDrop translates the manufacturers’ “small/medium/large” categories into band and cup sizes so you can be confident in ordering the correct size.

YumDrop Star Studded PantiesI recently received my package from YumDrop, and was even more pleased than I thought I would be. I ordered the Star Studded Panty, a pair of boyshorts with lace-up sides and “Sexy” silk-screened on the back. I couldn’t be happier with these – I’m a sucker for corset-style lacing, and my new panties are every bit as comfortable as my everyday boyshorts. They are, however, far more “rock-n-roll” than my everyday boyshorts!

I also got the Ruffled Rhumba Hot Pants. These are cute, but I’m torn about them.YumDrop Ruffle Rhumba Hot Pants They aren’t really my style or much like anything else I own, but I’m trying to broaden my tastes and they are very flirty for lounging around at home. They seem a great accessory to a simple cami or short chemise.

My favorite, however, is the Pink Mesh and Lace Cami set. I am a larger cup size, so usually I shy away from YumDrop Pink Mesh and Lace Cami Setanything with underbust seams because they never hit me correctly. I had to take a shot with this set, however, because it looked so good – and I’m glad I did! I was pleasantly surprised to see that the straps are adjustable, so even ladies with larger cups can adjust the top to fit them well. And I absolutely love the design.

When you visit YumDrop, be sure to check out their costumes. Halloween will be here before you know it!

P.S. Check out our sales section to find a coupon code for YumDrop!

Kiki De Montparnasse – A Unique Intimacy Experience

April 7, 2007 by Krista

back_bow.jpgBack in November, Mandolina welcomed you to the world of Kiki De Montparnasse with exquisite photos of their Satin Corselet. This week, I was able to view this, among other extraordinary pieces, in the flesh at the Rites of Spring Salon.

Kiki De Monparnasse
transcends being just a lingerie brand in just a lingerie shop. It is an all encompassing intimacy experience whose flagship store, in the Soho area of New York City, feels like it could be your own bedroom – except with a few juicy extras!

When you enter the space, you are immediately swept away into an oasis of seduction. With its high ceilings, sophisticated color palette, and extensive collection of intriguing art, Kiki De Montparnasse is a comfortable place to explore your sensuality. I was impressed by the great attention to attend to every detail of creating a unique and indulgent boudoir experience from the ample selection of music to “make love to” to the eclectic library of books to help you “keep it interesting.”

For as daring as you are or as daring as you want to be, there is a little something for everyone. For the more tame, perhaps start with the “French Lesson Panty” in “Love Me.” For the more risqué, perhaps the “Tie Me Up.” french.jpg

One feature I liked about a number of the pieces were that they could not only be worn in the bedroom, but also thrown over tights or jeans and worn out of the bedroom as well. Featured below is the Cashmere Crochet Tunic. tunic.jpg

The signature Kiki handcuff print can be found on anything from this Kerchief kiki_print.jpg
to Leather Cuffs.

If you are in the New York area and looking to spice things up, I recommend stopping by to experience the high end luxury for yourself. See the website for hours. In the meantime, sign up for the mailing list and stay posted on upcoming salon events.

Can’t make it New York? Lucky for you the website does an excellent job of recreating the sensuous feel of the store, so you can peruse the provocative pieces and decadent accessories 24/7.

Look for more about Kiki De Montparnasse to come…
