The luxurious 10-piece collection uses organic silk, cotton and jersey silk. Produced in M&S’s first carbon neutral lingerie factory in Sri Lanka, using sustainable fabrics and dyes, the Eco-B collection combines M&S’s Plan A environmental commitment with Eco-Boudoir’s belief in “luxury with a conscience”

Gillian Ridley Whittle, Head of Lingerie buying at M&S says “It is great to work with Eco-Boudoir, a company that share M&S’s belief both in sustainable and ethical product but also beautiful, wearable lingerie and sleepwear”

Jenny White, Founder of Eco-Boudoir “We are delighted to be collaborating with M&S on this nature inspired collection as they are leading the high street in sustainable fashion and really striving to make a difference. With this collaboration it is our mission to make sustainability sexy”

Greenleaves: Figleaves’ Eco Lingerie Department

March 8, 2008 by Mandolina

Eco Lingerie is the next big thing. We’ve mentioned quite a lot of Eco-stuff on TLP before (read up in our ‘eco lingerie’ archives here!), but when Figleaves decides to really go for something, they beat everyone else when it comes to delivering. To make sure they don’t miss out on the eco-trent, Figleaves have launched Greenleaves — their dedicated deparment for ‘green products’ with the tag line: “Concerned about the environment but also want to look and feel good? Then Greenleaves is for you!”.

At this point, Greenleaves has 4 dedicated eco labels on display:

  • Eco Boudoir (UK/US)
  • Enamore (UK/USicon)
  • GreenKnickers (UK/USicon)
  • People Tree (UK/US)

Figleaves has also added some eco products from other brands like Chantelle, Ballet and Amoralia in the Greenleaves department — as always different styles on the UK and US website.

That remains one of the downsides. Some of the pretty things on the Greenleaves UK shop are not on the Greenleaves US pages. Oh well! 🙂

And God Created Woman: Best New Talent…

February 9, 2008 by Nerys Hebdon

I’m still buzzing from the Paris Lingerie show… It was fantastic just to be part of such a great event but I got really lucky and was awarded ‘Best New Talent’ – a fabulous boost for the brand and for me (pictured at the show below).

Nerys of And God Created Woman at the Salon de la lingerie in ParisAnd God Created Woman wins award in Paris

The new brands recognized with the award were:

  • And God Created Woman (www.andgodcreatedwoman.co.uk)
  • Britta Uschkamp (www.brittauschkamp.com)
  • Eco-Boudoir (www.eco-boudoir.com)
  • g=9.8 (www.g98.fr)
  • Made by Niki (www.madebyniki.co.uk)

We were profiled during a conference for international press and buyers and invited by the Mayor of Paris to a private party at the Museum of Modern Art on Saturday night. Dream-come-true stuff!

It’s a lot of work to participate in the show before, during and after – but it’s worth every late night. I came away feeling really energised and inspired. I’m a few years away from having a huge glossy stand with it’s own champagne bar and catwalk…but it’s good to have a goal! My overriding impression from the show was that the world is a very big place…it’s really opened up possibilities that I wouldn’t have had access to. Bravo Paris!
