Artists and Quilters Design For A Cause

Over 80 artists and quilters from upstate NY participated in a breast cancer awareness project where they had to creatively embellish 100 bras that were donated by Maidenform to raise money for the American Cancer Society and Encore Plus. After being judged for various categories, the winning entries were finally announced this week.

The wacky entries were judged by a panel of three to determine the winners for the following categories:

Most Innovative – “Blue-footed Boobie”
Best Use of Embellishment – “Lady Big, Lady Bug, Fly Away Home…”
Best Use of Color – “Lilacs for Mom”
Most Effective Breast Cancer Message – “Fight Like A Girl”
Most Humorous – “Thing 1 and Thing 2”

Judges Choice:
“Flower Power” (Sharon Stroud)
“Don’t Gamble With Your Life” (Lorry Chwazik)
“Time for Reflection” (Gina Chapman)

Through sponsorship from The Common Threads Quilters Guild of Vestal, NY, the uniquely decorative bras will be on display at several locations around the upstate NY area through November, and will then be auctioned off at the final reception.

Fourth Set from Edition 12

TLP has reported on Edition12 before. The short story is a European shop owner decided to offer a very exclusive lingerie set each month. On the 12th of every month at midnight, a new piece is released. The number offered is restricted, so you have to act quickly.

After a small glitch, the fourth set has been released at Edition 12.

It is called “Meshville” and includes a triangle bra and some boxer-inspired knickers. They are made of petrol lace and are €140.00. Hurry, this set will be revoked on 12 November.

Cosabella’s Fall Sex and the City Collection

The hype surrounding Sex and the City: The Movie has long faded and many of us are already anticipating the rumored sequel. However, Cosabella is keeping the energy of the four ladies going by reintroducing the Sex and the City collection for fall. While the collection may include different styles, colors, and textures from the original collection released back in May, it continues to keep the sexy and sassy essence of the show and the characters. Available in stores now, just weeks before the September 23rd DVD release, the second Sex and the City collection is guaranteed to be a blockbuster.

Carrie is bold. For fall, the Carrie collection, including a camisole, brief, and g-string, is bold as well. In a vibrant pink called Lipstick, each piece is created from a new, scallop edged lace.

The classy Charlotte collection again uses the eco-friendly bamboo, but adds a 3/4 sleeve top perfect for the crisp autumn nights. The collection, including the long pants and low-rider thong, are available in an earthy Sage.

The sassy Samantha collection doesn’t disappoint! Complete with a bustier, low-rider hotpants, and a low-rider thong, the Samantha collection features a spotted black and tan feline print in tulle with black lace trim.

Miranda is polished, but playful. For fall, the Miranda collection again uses the contrasting tulle and lace combination, but in Cocoa and Pink. The collection includes a soft bra, low-rider hotpants, and a low-rider thong.

edition12 – Very Exclusive Lingerie

Edition12 is the brain child of Katja and Jutta. Katja is the shop owner, Jutta is the designer. Katja says:

I wanted to shop online. But: no chance. I couldn’t believe, that I couldn’t buy my newly discoverd label (fishbelly) anywhere in the internet. The idea was born: I will have my own shop. An exclusive one, where women (and men) with a similar taste as mine can shop this label. Next day I called Jutta Teschner. The designer and owner of the label. Two weeks later we met in Berlin, talked and thought it is worth a try. The collection consists of a strictly limited number of pieces – it definitively ends with 120 lingerie sets sold. And … further more: Only one single lingerie set is offered, which is designed specially for us. the edition12 shop – it is only available for the period of one month, then a new design will be offered.

To get on this, you have to shop online. There is no phone, no reservation, just the internet store. On the 12th of every month at midnight, a new piece is released. Sizing is fairly restricted, 32-36C for the bras, so some people will not find anything to purchase. This began in June of 2008 with the “Naughty June”. For July, the Pure Vichy Silk.

How to have sex in the woods? Answer the “frenchy-vichy” way. Go out and have your pique-nique wherever u want. Dress and undress in pure silk. Show up in a perfect fitted bra and a beautiful string-tanga with playful waistband to tie and untie. Being an eye-catcher yourself put on your sleeping mask to protect you from other people’s looks.
