We talked about the Freya Swimwear for this season a couple hours ago. Now, we focus on the latest Fantasie line!
Seattle is the basic of the Fantasie collections. All suits are available in Black with most also being available in the rich, vibrant Peacock! Choose the top that compliments your figure best – balcony, sweetheart padded, halter triangle, or bandeau tankini. Pair with the classic brief, short, or control brief all featuring the added touch of a belt. Want more coverage? A v-neck one piece with control lining is also available.
Marrakesh, available in Black, features both a plain and Moroccan inspired print. Mix and match choosing from a balcony bikini or halter triangle bikini top and a deep brief with belt or fold brief. A one piece is also available.
Print is also present in the Honolulu collection. Top options include a balcony bikini and underwire tankini. Bottom options include a classic brief and fold brief. All items are available in Peacock.
Not that you would want to cover up any of these amazing designs, but sometimes you just have to! Both lines offer very cute and classy cover ups. South Beach, a jersey dress by Freya, is available in both White and Coco. Cairo, a kaftan by Fantasie, is available in Black and Bitter Chocolate.
Look for all of these collections to hit stores later this fall. Perfect for that winter getaway you’ll need to take. In the meantime, summer is practically here! You still have time to snag a sexy (and well-fitting) suit for all the pool and beach hopping you plan to do this summer. Explore the current Freya and Fantasie swimwear collections at stores worldwide and online, including TLP favorite Boudiche as well as Lion’s Lair Specialty Swim and Belle Lingerie. I’ll be sure to let you know about my choice in the forums! Happy shopping!

Soda is a basic group available in Black or Coral Sands. Silhouettes include a balcony, bandeau, or soft triangle bikini top as well as a tankini top. Pair with a tie-side, classic, or fold brief, or short. This versatile range also includes two one piece suits – a halter and a soft cup.
Darling Harbour is downright sassy! Featuring a fun, polka dot print in Cappuccino, this retro chic range is available in a sweetheart padded bikini top or triangle bikini. Choose from a 50’s low-leg, tie side, or classic fold brief. The suit is also available in a one piece.
For a more tropical flair, try Beach Tiki. A bright and colorful print, Kiwi, adorns this flattering bikini. The balcony bikini and triangle bikini tops both provide a sexy silhouette. Both bottoms, hipster short and classic brief, include belt detailing.
Look like a Bond Girl in Vodkatini! This collection also features the flattering balcony and triangle style tops in addition to a tankini top. Complete the set with a retro brief or short, all in Cocoa Bay.

Although KGB came busting in on the bikini scene with a glaring theme of communism, it is not a Russian brand but rather, American from South Carolina. Oddly enough, the original Russian inspired theme appealed to many young people but mostly because they were too young to understand the historic negative significance. And while something as simplistic as a bikini does not usually coincide with politics, the KBG label moved Russian fashion into the forefront.
That was four years ago and 2008 brings a new theme of dirt bikes and Motocross racing. While most bikini labels aim to be the skimpiest or the sexiest or the boldest, KGB focuses on the image of young women being strong, determined, gutsy and knowing what they want accepting nothing less. Thus, Motocross biking was chosen as the theme because the sport is difficult, demanding and inspiring. The underlying notion is that young people should not give up and should aspire to achieve their goals and dreams.
The current collection is characterized by exciting, bold prints, huge metal adornments such as the side rings on the bikini bottoms, and precision cuts in the fabric to enhance and define the body. One thing that is very striking about this collection is the fact that the bikinis are not skimpy by most standards. The cuts of the legs of the bottoms provide ample coverage and the cuts on the tops are just enough to show a hint of breast.
Bikini tops come in bandeau, halter styling, string closures, bra tops with accent coloring bands and straps, keyhole center tops tied around the neck and long sash like ribbons tied at the back of the top. Aside from the black boots, the bike chains and bike tires that the models wear or carry, there is nothing rough and tough about this bikini collection. On the contrary, the colors are bright, upbeat and ready for the sunshine, the designs are elegant and modest, and the look is quite sexy and appealing.
Lastly, something should be mentioned about the brand’s history. K,G and B are actually the initials of the young woman behind the label. The daughter of Tara Grinna, Kirsti Grinna comes from a family of expert swimwear makers. Her mother Tara, well respected for her beautiful haute couture swimwear, and maternal grandmother, Eleanor Langley, established La Plage Swimwear. Tara went into partnership with her mother and her husband joined the business as well. It is therefore no surprise that Kirsti would launch her own bathing suit lines.

Located in South Brazil, Ponta Brasil Ltd., a newer beachwear company founded in 2000, has now made its 2008 collection available. Exporting most of its production, the company presently wholesales to larger distributors in South, Central and North America, Europe and Asia. They further plan to expand their operation by adding an online retail division where they will sell their brand internationally direct to end consumers. The total product line is swimwear, active wear, workout wear and general beachwear. And the 2008 collection is as sexy as one would expect from a Brazilian bikini company.
A marvelous animal print one piece suit sets the mood, as the new collection is unveiled. Complete coverage with plenty of fabric drawn up in the center with a silver rectangle, this suit is hot enough for any beautiful woman walking the beach. Other suits included in the collection are halter top bikinis, bandeau tops, tops with center adornments, and string side tie bottoms with jeweled motifs.
The other one piece in the collection, PB 1204-A, is one of the most striking bathing suits they offer as it is a unique design with three front rings and four pieces wrapped around the front of the body. And it looks great in skin tone, black or leafy print.
One of the most interesting traits of this label is the use of different prints together. Where one would normally see mix and match solid colours or solids on top or bottom with prints on top or bottom, the PB 1211-A bikini is a black and white print flower bandeau top with white stripes on back bottoms with big red ties on the side
Another example of the use of varied prints together is garment AC 805, a pretty pastel coloured tank top, bikini string top and mini skirt with side slit tied with a black string. The tank top design is a very big version of the bottom squares and petals motif.
Other garments in the collection include
Ponta Brasil certainly sets itself apart from other bikini labels, as the line is fun with its varied prints but elegant in the design and use of those prints.
Make sure to check out their official site. You’ll spend hours trying to find your way; but you’ll see a lot of sexy brazilian swimwear while doing so! 😉
