Cool Sets Wicking Nightwear

March 8, 2009 by Rene

TLP highlighted Cool Sleepwear last year. They provide sleepwear options for wicking away night sweats.

Cool Sets is another company addressing the same market. The company is run by a group of women that are also members of the product line demographic. They have developed their exclusive CoolBalance® moisture wicking fabric. It helps keep you cool and dry when it’s hot and warm and dry when it’s cool. Our fabric is light to the touch, drapes beautifully and gives you the luxurious look and feel of high fashion. Time and again our customers say Cool Sets keeps you cooler than cotton or silk pajamas, and feel great against your skin.

The company supplies to stockists and offers a company store as well. Above are two fabric choices for the front snap pyjama tank. It is $44 and can be combined with the PJ short or the Bloomer short. The choices are Floral Dream and Pink Dot.

These are the wicking chemise nightgown. This is Red Passion and Champagne colour options. Either is $55.

Sleeping with Modesty and Style

August 10, 2008 by Rene

Sleep with Modesty is a lingerie designer based in the UK. Their current collection consists of six pieces. They offer a company store and sell the products from their web site.

Working with high quality silks, cottons and lace we design and make nighties that are contemporary but influenced by old-fashioned glamour. All of our nighties are made in England using traditional artisan techniques that cannot easily be replicated in mass produced garments. All the lace used in our garments are made by a traditional lace making company in Derbyshire and our silks are bespokely dyed in England.

Sleeping with Modesty

On the left, the Flora is a backless nightie retailing for £120.00. ‘There is something so lovely about exposing your back, sexy but not obviously so.’ This is 100% silk. On the right, this smock nightie is the Chrysanthis and is available for £65.00. It is made from opaque cotton voile.

Sleeping with Modesty

On the left is the lace trimmed nightie, Helena, for £130.00. ‘Wearing this beautiful nightie will definitely bring out the screen goddess in you.’. This is bias cut silk crepe with levers lace.. On the right is the Elara for £95.00. ‘Men must like seeing women’s legs as every man we know always asks if our collection includes a baby doll.’ This has a fitted bodice and long ties in the back.

The offerings are available in S,M,L but they also bespoke services.

Pickles & Loop Sleepwear – Say What?

May 15, 2008 by Mandolina

When I write about luxury lingerie, I usually write on serious pieces extolling the virtues of expensive and prestigious fabrics such as French laces, unique silks, and European trims. But in this article, I decided to write about something fun and whimsical.

Pickles and Loop is an Australian “feel good” line. The sleepwear and casual pieces are fun, comfortable and great for relaxing. My first question when reading this company’s biography was how on earth it got its name? The answer is rather cute. Two women, Nikki and Lisa, who are identical twin sisters, decided to call the company by their nicknames. Thus, the corporate name, Pickles and Loop Designs was born.

The twins’ mission and company vision is “to provide a boutique range of affordable, good quality sleepwear that is comfortable, fun and sexy”. The collection is quite appealing and inviting with pastel colours and mix and match pieces. It includes camis, T-shirt tops, lounge pants, boxer shorts, nightgowns, robes and slippers.

Although the line is not terribly expensive, it remains a good quality product with extra special details such as the choice of gift wrapping when purchasing items. The company offers fancy gift boxes with paper tissue, lovely ribbons and personalized cards. The other choice, my favourite, is the beautiful ivory organza bag with lovely drawstring type ribbon and personalized note card.

There are plenty of good things to say about this sweet brand of sleepwear and one thing that is not readily noticeable is the extra special effort to make the fabrics as comfortable as possible. The company touts comfort but the fabrics actually include comfort creating materials. According to the washing instructions for the cotton poplin boxer shorts, the material has been treated with a soft peach finish that actually enhances comfort.

One last newsworthy mention for Pickles and Loop is it is engaged in a three year run as the Official Sleepwear Sponsor for Miss World Australia. It seems that Miss World Australia of 2006 chose the label as her brand of sleepwear and Pickles and Loop became the official sponsor.

Pickles and Loop is a refreshing collection with a new Basics Range that is sure to amuse and please its wearers.

Nightgown Preferences

April 3, 2008 by Brenda

Nightdress, nightgown, sleeping shift, whatever your terminology of choice, I prefer to sleep in a nightgown. And the frillier and the fancier the style, the better for my wellbeing. Now mind you, when I was young I was expected to sleep in the flannelette type gown that Nanna wore to keep warm and covered up but I have long dispensed with that style.

SALLY JONES PHOEBE NIGHTGOWNI like to have many nightgowns in the dresser drawers, as I prefer to wear something different each night. I am kept very busy searching for new designs, unique pieces and lovely colours to match my moods. Several designers come to the forefront when I look for nightdresses. The frill factor is important and this element is evident in Sally Jones’ Phoebe (stock #p259L). Perfect for dreaming, a vintage inspired nightdress in sage French lace and natural chiffon complete with cameo suits my Victorian personality.

Colours that complement my skin tone are purples, pinks and light greens so when I saw this bold, hot pink chemise and robe ensemble from Silk Cocoon, I knew it would be perfect for a summer evening outfit. Elegant silk with crepe satin trim and a pretty, delicate bow at the V-neckline make this set a keeper. What is brilliant about this collection is there are many mix and match pieces. Short chemise, long gown, knee- length robe, baby doll jacket and solids as well as prints.

SILK COCOON

Schweitzer Linnen Andrea NightgownOne line of nightwear that I find extremely subtle and gracious is Schweitzer Linen. Most family run businesses take pride in their craftsmanship and this company excels when it comes to sourcing the finest luxury fabrics. Andrea, a cotton jersey, Ivory coloured nightgown is sumptuously tailored to feel like silk. Italian imports, intricately etched lace and scalloped side slits accentuate a woman’s true beauty.

Indulgence is so important in this fast-paced and demanding world. So, step aside chocolate, as many women may find the decadence of lovely nightgowns much more satisfying.

Award Winning Carol Malony

February 21, 2008 by Krista

While at the Curve NY show, I was able to see the always sassy and stylish Carol Malony collections – Carol Malony Signature

Champagne Taste BraChampagne Taste Panty
Champagne Taste Set Champagne Taste Long Slip

There are a number of other collections in this group I am eager to see in stores this Fall! “Enchanted” follows a unique, Carol Malony trend of matching muted colors with a pop of neon. Made of French stretch lace and silk chiffon in muted lavender, this seemingly sweet set shows its sassiness with a neon green edge to the Bloomer Panty as well as the same pop of color to the bra. This one-of-a-kind, Carol Malony “WOW” factor is also seen in the racy, leopard mesh, “Here Kitty Kitty” and the bright and colorful lace and silk satin, “Tropical Punch.”

Want to see more? See the full collection on the Carol Malony website.

In the Fall 2008 Carol Malony Signature collection, the glitz and glamour of the cabaret is evoked in each piece, while still retaining the Carol Malony flair. With bows, sequins, feathers, and fringe, you’ll have fun channeling your inner vixen in pieces like “Tiny Dancer,” “Heart Throb,” and “Well Red.”
