Curve New York August 2021 Show

July 18, 2021 by Inbound

Comexposium USA is pleased to be offering their first in-person Curve New York (Curve NY) trade event on August 1-2 after a 1-year hiatus. Known in the industry as the premiere intimate apparel & lingerie event in North America, the show has moved downtown to Spring Studios, an event space home to The Tribeca Film Festival and many fashion events. The appeal of the new space is the soaring ceilings, open floor plan, breath-taking views, and outdoor terrace.

Curve New York 2021“We surveyed our buyers before planning this show & will be customizing it specifically for their needs” says Kirsten Griffin, Director of Visitor Promotion. “It was really important for us to find the right venue that would accommodate their requests for a light filled space with indoor/ outdoor areas to feel safe.” Raphael Camp, CEO of Eurovet Americas, the Fashion division of Comexposium USA, adds: “We made certain we could accommodate up to a hundred global brands in a space with clear health and safety guidelines. Spring Studios has formed a partnership with Impact Healthcare for Covid-19 Related Services and CLEAR to provide touchless and seamless screening for buyers and vendors. Curve NY will be following all New York City and CDC safety guidelines including mask wearing and space capacity protocols.  As an extra precaution there will be plexiglass and more space between booths.”

The highlight of Curve New York will be the NPD x Curve Excellence Awards, which will recognize the outstanding work of the industry’s retailers, brand representatives and innovative labels. The first awards ceremony by NPD x Curve was held online on Curve Connect – Curve’s digital platform – in September 2020. Out of the twenty-three awards given many went to intimate apparel brands, among them the #1 Selling Bra in the U.S, the #1 Dollar Growth Average Figure Designer Brand, and #1 Digital Native Bra Brand Among Millennials. Honored retailers received awards in Philanthropic Excellence, Lifetime Achievement & Education Excellence. “After a year of restrictions, everyone wants something to look forward to. We feel it is especially important to acknowledge the many people in our industry working hard to make a difference. The awards ceremony also keeps our lingerie community united and brings awareness of the many outstanding accomplishments of its individuals,” says Griffin. “With the intimates market focus on product innovation, and with consumer engagement continuing to drive strong sales that outperform the overall apparel industry, it’s a wonderful time to celebrate the winners and market leaders in the industry,” according to Todd Mick, executive director of fashion apparel with The NPD Group. The invitation-only event will be held Sunday August 1st, 2021.

The Curve team is excited to welcome the historic Van de Velde company back to the show for the first time in several years, bringing Andres Sarda, Marie Jo, and PrimaDonna to the show floor.

Also new to the New York show are Ana ono, Aspen Dream, Demery Jane, Fishbelly , Kaye Larcky and Long Story Short.

Among other brands already confirmed for August: Anita, Aubade, Calida, Chantelle, Claudel, Cosabella, Conturelle, Cupid Intimates, Dita Von Teese, Elila,  Elomi, Eva Bitzer, Falke, Fantasie, Fashion Forms, Féraud,  Fogal, Freya, Goddess, Gossard,  Journelle, Kilo Brava, Leonisa, Maison Lejaby, Mey, MilaKrasna, Natori, Only Hearts, Playful Promises, Roma Confidential, Roesch, Simone Pérèle, Undress Code, Va bien, Valery, Verdiani and Wacoal.

Curve NY and NY Showrooms Part 2: Fall Trends

March 10, 2011 by Krista

Curve NY was a great chance to see the Autumn/Winter collections from some of our favorite brands (as well as some newcomers!). We know you will be falling for fall just like we are! See below for my Five for Fall (five trends + a special shout out to some brands to keep your eye on) and stay tuned to TLP for more on these brands in the upcoming months. Don’t forget to let so know what you think on Facebook or Twitter!

Color, Color Everywhere…

It looks like color will be pervading the drawers and racks of your favorite boutiques and department stores this fall. Color palettes include elegant and opulent jewel tones like deep hued purples, full bodied wines, and strong sapphires as well as rich and robust autumnal shades like spice, poppy, and olive. Even the absence of color makes a bold statement with luxurious, creamy colors like blush and oatmeal.

Favorite Brands for Color: Zinke, Brulee, Amulette, Affinitas, CLO

It’s All in the Details!

Prints are back! I’m a huge fan of prints from a little accent to a bold statement. This fall, prints are airy and ethereal and include feature everything from florals to birds to symbols. Other favorite details for fall include the timeless eyelash lace, cheeky ruching, flirty ruffles, edgy hardware, and pretty piping.

Favorite Brands for Details: Beautiful Bottoms, Marlies Dekkers, Lelo, ARI DEIN

Mix it Up

One of my favorite new trends is the concept of mixing and matching. For all you recessionistas out there, this is the perfect way to maximize your lingerie wardrobe. From camisoles, chemises, and robes in alternating colorways to solids and patterns with similar color palettes, there are limitless options for creating a unique look. With so many options, it will be tough to decide!

Favorite Brands for Mixing and Matching: HotMilk, Between the Sheets, La Fee Verte, Amulette

The Romper is Here to Stay!

I’ve proclaimed my love for the romper before and am glad it is here to stay! This fun and flirty silhouette continues to be a trend in many collections that speaks for itself.

Favorite Brands for Rompers: Else, La Fee Verte, Brulee, Zinke

Vintage Inspired Looks

Many brands are using classic looks of the past and reinventing them to be fitting for the modern woman. Long lined bras, high-waisted knickers, and wide straps are just a few of the details that characterize this look of years gone by.

Favorite Brands for Vintage Inspired Looks: Dirty Dolls, Made by Niki, La Filled’O, Else
