Hopeless’ The Voyage 2010 Lingerie

December 19, 2009 by Mandolina

Hopeless is a beautiful small Australian hand-made lingerie label operating from Etsy. We’ve actually interviewed Gabrielle Adamidis, the Hopeless Designer in February – and we’ve been awaiting a full new collection like this one quite a while.

A gorgeous Naval-inspired silk lingerie collection. All hand-made, all extremely decadent… We asked Gabrielle about her inspiration:

“…the third Hopeless range entitled “The Voyage” – based on Steven Spielberg’s Jaws. Taking inspiration from the sharks teeth, the blood in the ocean and the waves of the sea. Basically I spent a lot of time looking at stills from the film, and got inspiration from unlikely places. I feel the best way to make something new is to look in unexpected places, and there are so many ways to interpret that information. Always in my mind as well is creating flattering shapes, for a range of different figures. This is something I am really trying to master in my fitting and pattern-making. I want there to be something in each of my collections for every type of body shape. I want to try and make every woman believe she is beautiful, and pretty silk things can help!”

Half Bust Corset by Antiseptic Fashion

November 17, 2009 by Kelly

You’ve seen underbust corsets. You’ve seen overbust corsets. But I had never seen a half-bust corset before this one! By Antiseptic Fashion, the Hypsipyle Leather Corset is an immediate eye-catcher.

If you’re intrigued, head over to Antiseptic Fashion’s Etsy shop to see more uncommon corsets and leather bedroom accessories. Antiseptic Fashion plays with asymmetry and cutouts – two things not often seen in the corset world – which would make any of the pieces a standout addition to your lingerie collection.

Unique Lingerie Jewelry

August 22, 2009 by Kelly

For most of us, our lingerie isn’t something the whole world sees. Other than our stockings, a fashion corset, or decorative bra straps, most of our underpinnings stay under wraps for only a select audience to appreciate. But you can be public about your love for lingerie, with lingerie jewelry. Wear your passion around your neck or on your wrist, and keep them all guessing about what they can’t see!

Vollers Corsets

The English corset company offers corset-inspired jewelry to compliment any outfit. Vollers jewelry can often be found in the product shots for the corsets themselves! They currently offer earrings, necklaces, and bracelets highlighting details that can be found in corsets, like the lacing or front clasp fastenings. Click here to see more or to purchase.

Of course unique jewelry always makes me think of Etsy! There are several sellers on Etsy selling lingerie-themed adornments, including JewelParlour and Ottobone.

Thomas Sabo

With Thomas Sabo charms, you can make a bracelet or necklace with the available lingerie-themed charms (among others). Charm bracelets have eight charm slots available, while the pearl, stone, and leather bracelets as well as the necklaces can hold up to three charms each, so you can accent the lingerie set with your birthstone or other charm.

Oak

Lastly, Oak has a necklace available with a charm designed after the iconic cone bra worn by Madonna.

Busy Sarah

August 8, 2009 by Rene

Sarah Wizemann, the blogger, business woman, crime fighter, boutique owner, and designer is busy again with the newest pieces for her own Gatsby collection. Sarah told TLP about the collection.

The latest Gatsby collection was inspired by iconic starlets of yesteryear: Louise Brooks, Clara Bow, Vivien Leigh, Veronica Lake and Josephine Baker. In keeping with the Gatsby theme, the styles are reminiscent of the 1920s and comprised of silk, vintage lace and antique buttons. I used art nouveau motifs in the machine embroidery on some of the styles. The color palate was inspired by the beautiful magnolia trees that were in bloom at the time I made the collection.

Sarah doesn’t sell the Gatsby line at her boutique. Instead, she uses Etsy for these very special pieces. The Veronica is $250 US and the full set for Clara Bow is also $250 (knicker, bra, suspender belt).

All photos from the Gatsby collection were taken by photographer Lisa Warninger. Visit her at www.lisawarninger.com. Photos of Louise Brooks, Clara Bow, Veronica Lake, and Josephine Baker are believed to be in the public domain.
