Coco de Mer

Coco de Mer Lingerie

August 26, 2009 by Kelly

We have mentioned Coco de Mer on TLP before (and their bedroom accessories were featured several times in the Complete Boudoir series) but we haven’t really given the brand a spotlight yet. Coco de Mer manages to strike a perfect balance between innocence and seduction. Rose-colored satin bras cut away to reveal a tantalizing glimpse to the viewer, seemingly sweet toile is actually illustrations of 18th century debauchery, PVC and lace coexist in the same piece, and even a bra that looks like a basic black balconette while in your lingerie drawer becomes the ultimate tease when worn – it cuts so low that your lover can almost (but not quite) see everything. There are so many frills and ruffles that it’s almost surprising how aggressively naughty everything is!

Afterwear from Signe Tolstrup

July 1, 2008 by Rene

Signe Tolstrup is the designer behind the Danish lingerie line — “Afterwear”. She says her Afterwear collection is “lingerie and loungewear designs with a touch of feminine street attitude.” Her Afterwear collection is found mostly in boutiques and online (from boutiques offering ecommerce). The boutiques are in Denmark, Iceland, Spain, Japan, and Coco De Mer in the US and UK, as well as Misty Beethoven in Italy and Barneys in NYC. Signe thinks that her collection can provide “the sensation of wellness and feminine luxury after bed; after bath; after work… it’s underwear that’s too good to hide.”

The latest collection of Afterwear, Signe’s lingerie line, is inspired by tales from the Arabian Nights – 1001 erotic, grotesque and sensual tales about warm desert winds, dark blue nights, hidden treasures, mystic creatures, lust, vengeance and love. life is carbon

Afterwear is more than tinged with a sense of the past. The pieces are hand stitched and can be embellished with antique metals, feathers, ribbons, and lace. A video (mp4) is available from United Pictures showing a collection from Afterwear.
