Sally Jones: Sexy Australian Lingerie
Sally Jones is extremely ambitious when it comes to the lingerie designing process. A quote straight off the official sallyjones.com.au site:
“When designing a new range I let my passion for color and lace be influenced by the latest fashion trends. Each piece has to be special-creative, feminine and seductive. Each sample must have a ‘Wow factor’, or it doesn’t go into production.”
After seeing the 2007 collection (way too late, I admit, the pieces first saw daylight in February), I have to admit — none of these pieces look ordinary. Great choice of colors, silks, laces — and all very sexy. As you can see — Sally is extremely versatile: loads of different styles and looks. I usually like collection to have some sort of theme — but this overload of styles is fun too! Enjoy the pics!

What Katie Did Lingerie AW 2007
Autumn/Winter 2007 looks like being the most decadent What Katie Did season yet. They’ve looked to 1930s Berlin for inspiration with luxurious fabrics including velvet and organza — resulting in beautiful vintage corsets that will pretty much dazzle any warm-blooded creature. All the “What Katie Did”-corsets are handmade by one corsetier from start to finish, are spiral steel boned and designed to skim up to 4 inches from the waistline. Retail prices are to be between £125 and £200 (that’s $250/$400).
What Katie Did haven’t designed an underwired bra before as they were very rare in the 1940s and 1950s, however, Katie Halford found a couture sample dating back to the 1950s and couldn’t help but be inspired… The extremely burlesque-like (I’m saying this in a good way) pieces we’re seeing today are called Cabaret Lingerie by Katie. I can see why. 😉
Very classy, very retro — I’m sure the vintage lovers will eat the What Katie Did AW07 alive. Make sure to check out the What Katie Did website — and the What Katie Did products on our shopping backend (we’ll soon have the AW07 pieces added, I’m sure!)
Naturana Lingerie Nostalgia Retro Collection
The German Naturana brand is yet another newcomer at La Magia, and seeing as we’re always extremely excited about the luxury retailer growing, we’re very happy to give you the heads up on this! The range they’ve added is the Nostalgia Retro Collection, a line celebrating the 90th birthday of the brand. Let’s start off with a little quote from the La Magia Blog:
The range includes the sumptuous ‘Satin Glamour Bullet Bra‘ which more than lives up to its name. Cut from the original 1950s pattern it is woven in contemporary cotton and satin for comfort and luxury. It comes with matching knickers and is available in black or caramel.
The caramel colour is divine and makes this bra so wearable. In classic fifties style the bra is not underwired, but is designed to be supportive and give great shape. The gentle conical shape is achieved by the breast filling the cup naturally.
Personally, I like the black one best — very retro but very wearable and mesh detail that just gives it a little extra. We’ve added the La Magia products to our shopping backend this week — so you’ll be able to find these stunning pieces on there too (obviously they’re on La Magia too!) Enjoy!
