A Warhol Princess: Princesse Tam Tam Fall 2009

November 4, 2009 by Marissa

The name Princesse Tam Tam pays homage to a film starring Josephine Baker, released in 1935. The spirit of this character embodies a woman that fights prejudice, a feminist, long before it was acceptable. Therefore, we can imagine the Warhol Princess collection will be edgy with some sexuality.

Each design offers several bra and panty styles to include half-cup bra, triangle bra, or push up bra. For the panties the bottoms come in hipster bikini, thong bikini, and boxer shorts. You have the option to choose your favorite combination. Tres chic! The printed stretch satin and delicate lace leave us wanting more.

The Parisian company also makes homewear (lounge wear as we know it) in the same colorful, whimsical style as their lingerie.

I am especially dying for the ANDY items, I LOVE the printed stretch satin in the Street Grey colorway!!

Lola Haze “Confections” for Spring/Summer 2010

October 17, 2009 by Mandolina

Lola Haze introduces its Spring/Summer 2010 collection. This collection, Confections, is the brand’s fourth. “The delight of taking the first bite of cotton candy—I want to capture that moment of sweetness and light in this collection,” says designer Laura Mehlinger. “There’s such simplicity in our love—or at least my love—of candy.”

With confections as a starting point, Mehlinger created a collection that explores desire and consumption in its many forms, finding a locus where desire to consume overlaps with desire for a woman to present herself as beautiful—to be consumed.

Confections focuses on silhouettes like camis, panties, and chemises in silk and mesh, including updates to favorite past looks as well as a new silhouette, the maxi chemise. Color and fabric mixing are a hallmark of the collection, with the Swirl group embracing a candy-cane-like twist of color-blocking that swirls up the body.

Fabrics include combinations of silk charmeuse, chiffon, and mesh, which, together, create a play of opacity mixed with transparency. The looks are both wearable and comfortable to a modern woman, but also give moments of sensual reveal. Colors are reminiscent of fruits and sherbets: peach, crème, mint, lavender, grape.

I’m happy to see some slip-like designs in here – and I’m sure Kelly will digg it too! 😉

La Fee Verte Spring/Summer 2010

October 17, 2009 by Krista

I first told you about La Fee Verte back in the spring after seeing the delightful collection at Curvexpo.  During a time when the intimates industry was feeling the effects of the recession, and the general mood of the show was reserved, I was intrigued by a brand that would dare to go bold!  The Fall 2009 collection, now available at retailers, including Journelle (where I saw it last week!), is daring, colorful, and whimsical.  In contrast, the Spring/Summer 2010 collection takes a more mature, more vintage, more Parisian direction while still retaining an emphasis on quality and luxury.

What I particularly love about the S/S collection is the variety of unique silhouettes that designer, Adam Sakara, uses to captivate the eye including kimonos, bralettes, tap shorts, rompers, and more.  I also love the versatility of the pieces.  Not only can they be mixed and matched to create new looks, but a number of pieces are able to double as outerwear as well as innerwear.  My favorite innerwear as outerwear piece would have to be the romper.  In both ivory and black, the piece is striking and could easily be incorporated into an outfit for a night on the town.   Another favorite feature of this collection is the subtlety of the colorways.  With simple, yet elegant combinations like black and ivory, black and lavender, gray and pink, and pink and ivory, the intricacy of the design shines through.

See above for a sampling of photos of the collection.  Many more are on the website.  I promise, you will be hooked!

More from Between the Sheets Lingerie

July 18, 2009 by Krista

Layla L'obatti CollectionI recently told you about the Between the Sheets comeback to the world of lingerie.  I wanted you all to get a glimpse of a few of the pieces that will be in the upcoming collection.  Keeping true to the fun and lighthearted theme of “play in your lingerie,” each piece is versatile and can serve as both innerwear and outerwear (if you’re creative!).  The simplicity and ease of the collection makes it sexy in a girl next door kind of way.  With the ability to mix and match the pieces, you’ll always be comfortable, stylish, and ready to play.

For those of you interested in a more sophisticated look, the Layla L’obatti for BTS collection is for you.  Elegance, opulence, and glamour are evident in each stunning piece.  Surround yourself in decadent satin and lace on a special day or any day and you’re guaranteed to feel like a million bucks!

Readers, while the buyers will get their first glimpse of the collection next month at Curvexpo New York, you will have to wait a few more months to get your hands on Between the Sheets. But it’s never too early to start drooling over the collection. Since my words alone won’t do them justice, see the rest of the images below and visit the Between the Sheets and Layla L’obatti websites.  Enjoy!

Special thanks to photographer Larry Baglio for sharing these amazing shots with us!
