Wundervoll

Wundervoll now at Lille Boutique

August 20, 2009 by Quick Blurbs

We’ve been in love with Wundervoll ever since Kelly introduced it on TLP about a year ago – and now we’re happy to report TLP favorite Lille Boutique is carrying the label’s latest collection Rene showed us in June!

Lille Boutique is carrying a big selection – below are some of my personal favorites:

Wundervoll Montana Set Wundervoll Chelsea Pants

“Classic elements of style such as braiding, contrasting trim and double button rows lend the collection a hint of nostalgia and understatement, while the young, feminine cut provides a certain seductive sexiness. High-quality details add luxuriousness, including delicate logo tags and labels made of enamel. Wundervoll composes the transition from lingerie to home wear with a deliberate flow. In addition to the underwear there are loosely cut models that wear especially well around the house. Most of the tops are designed to look great as outerwear too!”

Thanks to weak dollar – prices are actually a little more affordable than what us Europeans are paying for Wundervoll. Maybe it’s worth the shipping – I’m not sure – but it’s worth checking that out!

Clean and Crisp Wundervoll from Germany

June 2, 2009 by Rene

Kelly introduced you to Wundervoll last year in TLP. With a couple of seasons since our last report and a growing list of retailers, it was time to visit Wundervoll again.

Wundervoll has taken on the challenge of designing lingerie for modern women who demand high quality. The elaborate artistry of the collection items captivate with clear design and noble details. Since 2008, Wundervoll has gracefully accentuated the body without confining it, combining sexy style with pleasurable wearing comfort.

The brand has deep roots. Matthias Jaschkes’ grandparents started a linen factory decades ago. Matthias combines his family’s long history with quality textiles and the styles of Berlin. The products are made in Germany and Jaschke works with Luise Blank for design assistance. This is the third collection from Jaschke. Art deco and retro futurism are some of the inspirations.

Jaschke has said, “Our look has become more courageous and sophisticated, of course while still maintaining Wundervoll’s typical understatement.” Nearly all of the pieces are made from pure silk with bits of lycra and organic cotton. Sizes are still pretty limited with bras offered in 32A to 36C and knickers in sizes 2-8. Besides being carried by exclusive stockists around the world, a few online retailers do carry the brand: frontlineshop, Style Server, and Enamora. Prices reflect the quality of the material and boutique production. Most pieces are 70,00 € to 130,00 €. Photos are courtesy of http://www.wundervoll-underwear.com/.

Introduction to Wundervoll

September 19, 2008 by Kelly

Wundervoll is a fairly new label, just launched in January of this year. Wundervoll (which translates as “wonderful”) really caught my eye when I was first introduced to the brand. There is such a distinct “Wundervoll look” that keeps everything in the collections quite cohesive, as well as distinguishes the brand from every other lingerie brand out there. This look is simple, elegant, and tailored above all. Matthias Jaschke, creator of the German line, described his brand in a press release announcing the Wundervoll launch earlier this year:

“While high-end lingerie its [sic] not necessarily suitable as everyday wear and too elaborate for many women, exclusive underwear is not always able to impress with fashionable, original designs. Wundervoll is both high quality and comfortable, while still remaining very feminine and sexy.”

Looking at the pictures from the current Fall/Winter 2008/09 collection, it is easy to see how Wundervoll is wearable and insanely alluring at the same time. Made of fine, natural, silk jersey, the collection of 20 pieces is clearly fashion-oriented with high-waisted “Boogie Briefs” and the “Rock ‘n’ Roll” balconette bra. The absence of color keeps the focus squarely on the construction and design of each garment. Soft bras are available in A and B cups, balconette bras are available in US sizes 32A-36C, and everything else is available in S-L sizes.

The upcoming Spring/Summer 2009 collection stays true to the aesthetic set by the inaugural collection. Jaschke says of the collection,

“The Spring/Summer collection 2009 surprises with new fabrics, wonderful colors and a variety of new creations. With this collection, we have completely lived up to our claim of combining the highest quality and perfect fit with feminine shapes.”

This new collection includes 21 pieces in certified-organic cotton as well as the silk jersey from the previous season. This cotton is woven with 10% Lyrca for a good fit. The bras, knickers, camisoles, and loungewear feature details such as braiding, contrast trim, metal rings, and double button rows similar to the Fall/Winter collection.  This collection (which will be available from January 2009) brings subdued color into the mix with shades such as papyrus, macadamia, cacao, ecru, black, and rose. Bras come in sizes 32A-36C and everything else comes in US sizes 6-12/GB sizes 8-14.
