Fauve Lingerie Autumn Winter 2008 Collection

September 29, 2008 by Brenda

With so many lingerie labels around the world and such beautiful designs, admittedly it is hard sometimes to distinguish one brand over another. But this newest Fall collection from Fauve by Fantasie is absolutely stunning. When I saw the first few pieces, I thought they were beautiful, but when I perused the Nicole series, I could not take my eyes off the marvelous workmanship and intricate features of the pieces.

The company describes the collection as opulent and there would be no disputing that adjective. Masterfully created with a combination of pinstripes and gorgeous corded embroidery, the line is inspired by vintage pieces with a hint of modern elements. Pinks, reds and purples make up this complete collection of padded plunge bra, balcony bra, brief, short, thong and camisole.

To call the panties “shorts” is an understatement of their beauty. Nothing is as delicate and as exquisite as the thick embroidery around the bottom of the shorts and leg holes. I am not sure how one justifies wearing clothes over these incredible pieces.

And although Nicole is my personal favourite, the other three styles in the collection should not be ignored. Rich Italian embroidery, French lace, plush straps, side support bra feature, dramatic pink on black, and rich pistachio or mulberry make the Amelie, India and Christina pieces just as fascinating.

I wondered about the name Fauve and found that “it is derived from Fauvism; an early twentieth century art movement and style of painting”. Now, knowing the meaning of the word, I would have to whole heartedly agree with the company when it states that “the design of this stunning lingerie has been treated like an art form with attention to detail and elaborate touches being key”.
