I used to love Benetton. Do not misunderstand me! I still love their designs but regrettably I can no longer wear them. Those beautiful, breezy patterns and little sizes are for someone much younger and much smaller. At least the stores in my area do not sell the line in my size. But their Spring Summer Collection 2008, which includes underwear and beachwear, is still nice to look. In fact, it is downright splendid!

A combination of elegance and whimsy, the lingerie collection is full of classic blacks and whites, soft purples with lace, and subtle pinks and greens in plaid and floral prints. The lavender set with matching bra and panties in two styles is extremely ladylike and delicate with its underwire bra, lace inserts, and scalloped edges. Choose between a fancy hipster panty and tiny ruffled eyelet panty.

Some of the sets, particularly the black and white collection of bras, panties and camisoles, are so pretty that it is hard to distinguish between bikini swimwear and undergarments. Plenty of ruffles, bows, and lace exude class and femininity in the tanga high cut briefs, hipster panties and bikini underwear.

For younger couples who wish to dress alike, some of the fabrics are used both in the women’s undergarments as well as the men’s. Fun prints in white, black and pink cow motifs, or hot pink, blue and green frogs double as women’s bras, panties and tank tops as well as men’s briefs and t-shirts. The other items in their “Undercolors” summer lingerie collection are a sweet white frock with spaghetti straps and red stitching on the gathered bodice, and a really cute floral pattern camisole with wide ruffle tied in a bow at the neckline. Both of these garments would be nice as loungewear or sleepwear.

As far as summer goes, this is a fun collection for both genders!
