Korean born Jean Yu is the woman behind the gorgeous feminine lingerie & Ready to Wear line. Her pieces tend to made of lightweight silk chiffon or georgette, and have a neutral color palette. Her architectural silhouettes and complex construction is reason enough to pick up a few of her pieces.
Another bonus- each item is limited edition, so you know you won’t be seeing the same thing next year.
Her designs can be purchased at 37=1 Atelier 37 Crosby Street New York, NY 10013.
The model in Jean Yu’s photos look like she just came out of a concentration camp.Isnt it obvious with this sheer lingerie that she is impossibly thin. The lingerie is beautiful, but this is the most unappealing and unsexiest advertising and or cataloguey display I’ve ever seen. Don’t get me wrong, I like skinny, but this totally sends out the wrong message to young and older women. I think that it’s your responsibility to advertise responsibly! With a few pounds on her this model could be beautiful, in these pics I just want to take her home to her mother and feed her!!! This is just plain scary!
I’m seconding Susan. The model looks emaciated. Her ribcage, spine, collarbone and shoulder blades are clearly visible and all too well defined to be healthy.
Would you post pictures of a bed-ridden morbidly obese woman modeling this lingerie? Of course not.
Would you post pictures of a model slashing her wrists while wearing it? Of course not.
I expect better things from the Lingerie Post than the glamorization of anorexia.
I agree wih Em and Susan – this model is boney and sick-looking. There’s nothing seductive about starvation! I’d like to see designers start designing clothes for women instead of stick figures.
