Amoena Swimwear 2009 Cruise Collection

December 3, 2008 by Brenda

Amoena, the company known for “providing a better quality of life for women following breast surgery”, has recently launched its newest swimwear collection for the 2009 season. A diverse group of bathing suits including colourful one piece suits, two piece skirtinis, triangle tops with bikini bottoms, blouson styles, and pleated sarongs make up this comfortable but appealing collection.

Most of the swimwear is made from eighty percent nylon and twenty percent Lycra Spandex. In fact, the special Xtra Life LYCRA® Spandex helps to prevent chlorine damage as well as keeping the shape of the garment intact. Each design is created with different women in mind. Some sport pretty empire waists like the Long Beach T in pink, yellow and white flowered bodice that can be worn with the flouncy skirt bottom or plain black bikini bottoms while others are bold and daring like the Long beach SB with V-crop top and V-pant in a green and blue print with solid black bands.

Other fabric prints include polka dots, silver foil, Corinthian and mermaid prints in a variety of colours all crafted to make a woman feel feminine and confident.

Vintage Style Bathing Suits from Popina Swimwear

July 30, 2008 by Brenda

Pamela Levenson, a vintage swimsuit designer, who has worked for Guess? Jeans both in Los Angeles and Paris, has created a gorgeous line of retro bathing suits including one piece, two piece, swim skirts and tankinis. Her boutique is situated in Portland, Oregon but she also sells the designs from her website.

In fact, the new 2008 designs are available online. A brilliant aspect of that collection is the Tankini swimsuits in the nifty “meet and greet” sizing. Ideally the bottom of the tankini should meet and just touch the top of the bottoms to create the appearance of a one piece suit. The Anabel Tankini comes in a range of colours and patterns and is modeled after the 1940’s “sun top tank”. Complete with a sewn-in shelf bra, the tankini has matching bottoms and comes in sizes extra-small though extra-large.

Another adorable feature of the Popina™ collection is the swimsuit skirt, a cute mini skirt made from the same patterns as the other swimwear. The skirt can be worn over the bathing suit in the water and will hold its shape and dry quickly since it is made with bathing suit fabric.

What a timeless and elegant selection of swimwear!

Victoria’s Secret Swim 2008

January 12, 2008 by Kelly

Victoria’s Secret has just introduced their new Swim 2008 collection. Boasting over 170 newVictoria's Secret Swim 2008 styles, the collection has tons of polka dots, ruching, metallic accents, and even a reversible tankini top (following the trend of their recent reversible bras)! Thankfully, there are some bra-sized options for the endowed women and push-up styles for those who want a little more oomph! Admittedly, I’m not sure what to think about the high-waisted bikini bottoms. There is a retro-looking polka dot set I could get into, but there are some more I just can’t wrap my mind around, like the tan “Retro ultra high-waist bottom” with pockets. Who in the world would that even flatter? It makes the teeny model look bottom-heavy! What do you think?

Lime Ricki Swimwear for Youngsters

July 16, 2007 by Mandolina

The Lime Ricki team explains how they started designing Children’s and Pre-teen swimwear on their “about” page:

“… it all started after Colette’s frustrating trip to the mall, searching for a swimsuit for her teenage daughter. She wasn’t willing to blow 80 bucks on some designer dental floss, but it was either that or a floral print spandex burqa…”

I’m sure that’s a tough spot for a lot of parents: you don’t want your daughter running around in a string bikini, but you don’t want to overprotect her either… I haven’t had to make such decisions, but as we’ve seen on the forums they’re never easy. Lime Ricki Swimwear wants to be a solution: allowing kids and teens to expose their style, while keeping them ‘comfortably covered’.

The Lime Ricki range is still somewhat limited, but their website looks really fresh and it all looks very ambitious, so obviously they deserved a spot on The Lingerie Post. The photo’s give you an idea of what to expect — there’s more on limericki.com!
