Victoria’s Secret has just introduced their new Swim 2008 collection. Boasting over 170 new styles, the collection has tons of polka dots, ruching, metallic accents, and even a reversible tankini top (following the trend of their recent reversible bras)! Thankfully, there are some bra-sized options for the endowed women and push-up styles for those who want a little more oomph! Admittedly, I’m not sure what to think about the high-waisted bikini bottoms. There is a retro-looking polka dot set I could get into, but there are some more I just can’t wrap my mind around, like the tan “Retro ultra high-waist bottom” with pockets. Who in the world would that even flatter? It makes the teeny model look bottom-heavy! What do you think?

Jane Pain’s Beachwear 2008 Collection
“Gipsy Heart”, the brand new swimwear collection designed by Jane Pain’s Patricia Salinas, is one of those beachwear collections that take some sinking in before you’re ready to judge… My first reaction was: “No way I’m wearing those fabrics and styles on the beach!”. Right now I’m thinking: “Where do I get that strapless swimsuit??!!”. Seriously, these pieces are gorgeous, and anything but average!
Patricia told us she’s trying to: “Show a girl that represents the well-defined Jane Pain style, literally going some place — and makes it hers.”
As always, Jane Pain worked together with some of the best local photographers and hairdressers/make up artists to create a story behind their collection. The location was a very typical “riverfront club” set in the 30’s — and the result is stunning. Patricia, you’ve done it again! Enjoy the photos!
More info, as always, on the Jane Pain website!
Fall/Winter 07/08 La Perla Resort
Here in the US, most of us are bundling up right now, and lingerie aficionados are facing the dilemma of trying to stay sexy and warm at the same time. Of course, I know that some lucky people are planning a winter vacation away, and many of you in other parts of the world are in the middle of summer! La Perla knows this, too! They have just come out with their Fall/Winter 07/08 La Perla Resort collection.
According to La Perla, this new swimwear collection was inspired by “a fantastic era populated by pirates and noblewomen, constellated with the shining gold of imaginary treasure.” Colors like dove grey, pink, and black are paired with a lot of gold embellishments to produce “a striking, spectacular outfit” and “sophisticated style….with a modern feel.” So, how do they do it? With touches such as gold braiding, tailcoat-style embroidery, metal sequins, pirate stripes, and accessories like an 18K wraparound skirt! In true La Perla form, these pieces aren’t cheap. Expect to spend upwards of $600. But this just may be worth it if you are going on a fabulous resort vacation!
Le Doux swimwear for 2008
I realize it’s not even Christmas yet. Yes, in december we’re already here pointing out our little favorites for the beachwear season for 2008 — hope you don’t mind! 😉
Le Doux has received quite a lot of attention on our blog before (we even reviewed them!), and seeing as we’re fans we’ve giving you a BIG sneak preview with 18 pretty pictures of their pretty 2008 beachwear… 🙂
I’m very happy with the classy black/white ones… Pretty sure I’ll be trying to get my hands on one of those to go with my bandeau halter from last season! 🙂
