Bare Necessities Now Offering Swimwear!

June 30, 2009 by Krista

As if the sunny weather wasn’t enough to make me happy these days?  My favorite online retailer, BareNecessities.com, has now expanded their selection to include swimwear!  Freya, Fantasie, and Miraclesuit provide us well-endowed ladies (through a GG cup!) with fashionable choices for our summers at the beach!  Since I already am a happy and proud owner of the Freya Vodkatini set in Cocoa, I’m considering the Malibu Lagoon.  Decisions, decisions.

Head over there soon to choose from these suits and many more!  And while you’re there, check out the great BN Staff Picks for the summer from T-shirt bras to VPL-eliminating panties for all of your summer favorites from white pants to clingy dresses.  Happy shopping!

Andres Sarda’s University Swimwear Summer 2009

April 12, 2009 by Mandolina

The 2009 University Swimwear line has been released on the Andres Sarda site a couple weeks ago – but only now we’ve gotten our hands on some higher resolution photos of the beautiful pieces in the collection.

Surprisingly vintage, Andres Sarda‘s University label is really looking glamorous as ever. I’m absolutely loving this line, so in stead of showing you a couple photos – here’s a boatload! 😉

I’m so impressed by these photos, can’t wait to try some of these pieces on myself.

Tiger Lily Set to Launch in US

March 24, 2009 by Rene

Can you remix beach culture by sampling different fashion memes? Tiger lily thinks so.

They embrace their “perfectly imperfect” aesthetic. They make sportswear, mainly swimsuits and cover ups with a “boy meets girl” styling. Supermodel Jodhi Mears is the designer behind this brand. Jodhi runs the Australian version of Britain’s Next Top Model.

Based in Australia, Tiger lily runs two operations in Australia and the US. The US operation is set to launch for Spring 2009. Here are some pieces from their 2009 collection.

The products are relatively easy to find in Australia. Surf Stitch carries many pieces, but I haven’t found US or UK retailers yet. In the UK, there is already a brand called Tigerlily, but they produce clothing for little children. This may be the reason Jodhi uses the split form of the brand name.

Tara Grinna Swimwear

March 6, 2009 by Rene

Last year, Brenda introduced the TLP readers to Kristi Grinna bikinis. Tara Grinna is her mother.
Tara Grinna began her career in Palm Beach, Florida. She designed couture swimwear for the rich and famous. In 1987, she moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. With her mother Eleanor Langley as her partner, Tara opened La Plage swimwear. At La Plage she continues to design and sew couture swimwear.

Her husband Rune joined the business in 1991 and managed the launch of the Tara Grinna Swimwear label. Grinna creates styles to flatter every figure. All swimsuits are made in the USA.

At the store in Myrtle Beach, they carry over 10,000 swim suits. The store carries all bra sizes, long torso, mature styles, mastectomy, plus sizes, maternity, children’s and preteen bathing suits along with bikinis, cover ups, resort wear, and custom swimwear. This is the Cherry Cheesecake on the left. It comes in a halter bra, knee length pareo wrap, slider halter, full length pareo wrap, high wasited bottom, underwire top, and the pictured twist tie bandeau. Prices range from $74 to $146 for the pieces. On the right, the Black Dahlia. It comes in the ring side hipster bottom, underwire and normal cup bra, halters, wraps, skirt, and even some pants. Pictured is the surplice with soft cups for $138.

On the left is the Hypnotize Me. Again, it is available in skirts, tunics, various bottoms, and many tops. Pictured is a mixed set from the collection. Each piece is around $75. On the right, is the Ozzies Peach. Pictured is the bandini which is $82.

The company offers many more pieces and it is worth stopping by the online store front to get a feel for the various cuts and styles. There is an eBay store that is run by the company. There are plenty of great bargains to be head. In addition, there are normal sale offerings at the company store.

Amoena Swimwear 2009 Cruise Collection

December 3, 2008 by Brenda

Amoena, the company known for “providing a better quality of life for women following breast surgery”, has recently launched its newest swimwear collection for the 2009 season. A diverse group of bathing suits including colourful one piece suits, two piece skirtinis, triangle tops with bikini bottoms, blouson styles, and pleated sarongs make up this comfortable but appealing collection.

Most of the swimwear is made from eighty percent nylon and twenty percent Lycra Spandex. In fact, the special Xtra Life LYCRA® Spandex helps to prevent chlorine damage as well as keeping the shape of the garment intact. Each design is created with different women in mind. Some sport pretty empire waists like the Long Beach T in pink, yellow and white flowered bodice that can be worn with the flouncy skirt bottom or plain black bikini bottoms while others are bold and daring like the Long beach SB with V-crop top and V-pant in a green and blue print with solid black bands.

Other fabric prints include polka dots, silver foil, Corinthian and mermaid prints in a variety of colours all crafted to make a woman feel feminine and confident.
