Back in November, Mandolina welcomed you to the world of Kiki De Montparnasse with exquisite photos of their Satin Corselet. This week, I was able to view this, among other extraordinary pieces, in the flesh at the Rites of Spring Salon.
Kiki De Monparnasse transcends being just a lingerie brand in just a lingerie shop. It is an all encompassing intimacy experience whose flagship store, in the Soho area of New York City, feels like it could be your own bedroom – except with a few juicy extras!
When you enter the space, you are immediately swept away into an oasis of seduction. With its high ceilings, sophisticated color palette, and extensive collection of intriguing art, Kiki De Montparnasse is a comfortable place to explore your sensuality. I was impressed by the great attention to attend to every detail of creating a unique and indulgent boudoir experience from the ample selection of music to “make love to†to the eclectic library of books to help you “keep it interesting.â€
For as daring as you are or as daring as you want to be, there is a little something for everyone. For the more tame, perhaps start with the “French Lesson Panty†in “Love Me.†For the more risqué, perhaps the “Tie Me Up.” 
One feature I liked about a number of the pieces were that they could not only be worn in the bedroom, but also thrown over tights or jeans and worn out of the bedroom as well. Featured below is the Cashmere Crochet Tunic.

I told you last week I have turned into a super-Playful Promises fan, right? Well, after browsing through some of my most favorite online boutiques, I found them at the great La Magia shop!
Not only is that great news, when you check out the price tags (from £10 to £35) on these beauties, you’ll see there’s so much more to be happy about 😉 !
I suggest you click right here and take a look at all the Playful Promises pieces they have in store, but for you lazy ones I’ll also show you my own little favorite: the Babyface Baby Doll Set. Made from soft black chiffon with pretty pink ribbon trim, this baby doll has underwired cups, and comes with a mesh and ribbon side-tie g-string: it works! I’m not usually too fond of babydolls (hence the low amount of articles about them – sorry!) but this one is so pretty!
La Magia really has a great stocklist. Not only do they stock Playful Promises and Made by Niki (I mentioned this before), they’ve got Kiss Me Deadly (very special, very vintage!), Velda Lauder (class-A corsetry) and What Katie Did (burlesque, anyone?). Check them out!
Oh my goodness! I see a lot of lingerie every day. I look at hundreds of photo’s, visit loads of boutiques and there’s a good chance my knickersdrawer contains more pieces than yours. Every once in a while I find something new that makes me 100% sure I have to get it as soon as possible. Some women can fall in love with shoes, I can fall in love with a bra or a corset.
Today is one of those joyful days: I just discovered Playful Promises.
The brand, founded by Emma Parker in 2004, isn’t the most famous when it comes name recognition, but I can tell you now (and you’ll be convinced at the end of this article), it should be. As from now on, I’m going to do my best to change that. Everyone into lingerie should know about Playful Promises.
Alice’s Party, their latest collection, is absolutely stunning. The signature knickers, ribbon-decorated corsets and balconnettes, basques and thongs are all close to perfection. Yes, there, I’ve said it, perfection.
Their website is just as pretty. The photo’s (by James Lightbown) are beautiful, the models look beautiful, … it’s all beautiful.
I’m sorry, I can’t say anything bad. Nothing. I’m giving Playful Promises an A+ A++. Keep it coming, Emma, you just got yourself a new fan!
