Julianne Trunk Show at Journelle
Designer Nicky Adamo was on hand to show off her current lingerie line as well as her new Autumn/Winter pieces this past Wednesday, August 6th, at Journelle. Guests sipped on champagne and sampled chocolates between trying on the luxurious pieces of the collection. In addition to the versatile innerwear/outerwear pieces of the intimates collection, Nicky’s first ready-to-wear collection was also available for purchase. See photos of the event below.
Look forward to being wowed by the Autumn/Winter Julianne collection. It’s amazing! Photos to follow soon.
Journelle Named Best Concept Store
NYC lingerie shop, Journelle, was recently named Best Concept Store by Best of Intima Magazine. The intimate apparel trade publication hosted the Best Shop Awards Gala in New York City on Sunday evening honoring the premier independent retail stores in the U.S. Shops are nominated by a national jury composed of top brands in the industry. Best of Intima editors also participate in the selection of the shops.
Right now, the BOI site only features footage from the 2007 show, so check back again soon. If you are in NYC, stop by to see exactly why this beautiful shop is award winning (and while you are there, restock your lingerie drawers!). For those of you unable to make the trip to NYC, see the photos below.

Summer Sensations at Journelle
I recently stopped into Journelle, my favorite boutique in NYC, to see the summer selections. I noticed a trend of light, airy pieces perfect for the 90+ degree weather we are experiencing here!My favorite pieces were from Araks, a brand we haven’t mentioned much here on TLP, but clearly should more often! Sweet and simple, yet very sexy, the collection is made up of sheer bralettes, panties, camis, chemises, and an absolutely adorable teddy. Details like ruching, silk and lace trims, and contrasting colors give the collection a unique flair. Choose from basic colors like Black and Cream or more summery colors like Sun, Lapis, and Marine.
Bodas was a new brand to me. With bras, knickers, camis, and more in cotton, mesh, and tactel, the collection is ideal for keeping you cool and comfortable as well as chic. In a variety of colors and styles, Bodas is perfect under clingy summer dresses and sexy summer short shorts!
With wedding season in full swing, I’m sure many of you are purchasing gifts for friends or perhaps for yourself. If you are looking for something a little different, I suggest Letters of Marque. This line proves that the sweet, vintage Victorian look can be sexy too. Soft and sheer with Leavers lace embellishments, it will be hard to choose between the bralette and cami and the bloomers and g-string. The collection also includes a babydoll and bed jacket.
Pretty, pretty! If you are in New York City, visit Journelle for a sampling of each of these collections. If you are out of the New York City area, you will soon be able to shop Journelle online, but in the meantime, check out Araks and Bodas at Lille Boutique and Letters of Marque at Nancy Meyer and Dollhouse Bettie. Enjoy!
