We saw Triumph’s $122,000 thong recently, but the company has outdone itself yet again by unveiling a crystal bra worth $160,000 at the Triumph Ultimate Support Exhibition gala. The bra, made of 7,256 Swarovksi crystals, took over 250 hours to hand-sew and weighs 850 grams. The 122-year-old company also presented a new logo and a plan to make the brand more eco-friendly by using products made of corn, hemp, and paper.

MED Lingerie from Greece
With all the lingerie companies in the world, it is hard to believe that so many outlets design such lovely creations. And incredibly, the supply seems to be endless. One of those myriad of companies is MED from Greece founded in 2003 by designer Christos Hatzivasileiou. Although he admits that his mandate is to focus on the erotic, play side of lingerie, even approaching fetish styles, the underwear that he creates is nonetheless tasteful and actually stunning in some pieces. He says that, “MED underwear is the ideal accessory for the protagonists of every daring erotic adventure, because of their unbelievably sexy fit and their revealing design, which liberates the libido hidden inside us”.
Perusing the Summer 2008 Collection “Precious”, the pieces are strikingly gorgeous. Anyone would be proud to wear these lace and crystal creations as there is nothing embarrassingly fetish about these undergarments. Meticulous detail in design and workmanship is seen in the beautiful matching ribbons intertwined throughout the black stockings. Lace bras with flower designs and pretty thongs adorned in crystals are mainstays of the sets while colours are demure and sexy in blacks, golds, hot pinks, reds and purples.
Sweet little bows and gold butterflies trim the sets off in a dainty and feminine fashion. And the collection is diverse with all an all-white line perfect for bridal wear in delicate lace stockings, and camisole or garter belt, bra and thong set. The lamé gold strapless bra and thong is exquisitely made with pretty lace flowers overlaying the cups of the breasts and gorgeous crystals around the waist of the thong.
The collection also offers a simple skin coloured line of bras and thongs. A strapless bra with flamboyant MED crystal thong, plain thong, halter style bra and thin bra with straps round out the skin tone collection.
A nice touch in the photo shoots is the signature MED necklace worn by the models, which finishes this collection with a stupendously ostentatious flair. More info? www.med.com.gr!
Roberto Cavalli 2008 Beachwear
I can’t believe I missed this, but I did want to make this into a quick blurb on TLP, seeing as the swimwear season is coming up — and we want to make sure to cover as many labels and collections as possible… The write-up is on beachwear.cc — the photos are from beachwear.cc — the shopping can be done at Nancy Meyer. Go summer!
Bosom Button: Cleavage Minimizing Wonder
They say that necessity is the mother of invention. And so it is true with the newest fashion accessory, the Bosom Button. Designed by a woman who was tired of trying to hide a safety pin to keep her wrap dress closed. She had a brilliant ‘light bulb’ moment…why not create a pin that can be worn on the outside and be fashionable?
These new little ‘must haves’ are high quality. Made with Swarovski crystals, or other fine gemstones, the Bosom Button is quick to use, wonderfully fashionable and very functional. Who would think that one little pin could do so much?
- Use on low cut tops to prevent that ‘peep show’
- Keep a wrap top from becoming unwrapped
- Secure a sari to the shoulder
- Keep a sarong snuggly around the hips
- Help a heaving pregnant bosom stay in place
- Secure a shawl around the shoulders
- Decorate any piece of apparel
First of all, though, the Bosom Button is a functional women’s accessory designed to minimize cleavage on low cut tops — a more chique alternative to double sided fashion tape. Off course, more info and info on where to get your own Bosom Buttons is on bosombutton.com!
The Feminine Beauty of Diamonds and Lace
Femininity is all about beauty, poise, elegance, and purity. Diamonds also have long been associated with purity and perfection. So, it doesn’t seem far-fetched for Victoria’s Secret to offer a line of fantasy diamond-encrusted bras that bring diamonds and lingerie together in one product. To get the same look without spending millions, just focus on bringing your feminine side to the forefront with diamonds.
Lingerie makes a beautiful backdrop to diamonds. Just like a diamond engagement ring is displayed in velvet-backed boxes, you can offer your own body as the backdrop to display gorgeous pieces of jewelry and lingerie that accent your femininity. The intricacy and delicacy of lace is stunning next to the rainbow-sparkling coolness of diamonds. Ruffles, velvet, and satin lingerie are equally wonderful to wear with diamonds. They can provide not only a visual stimulation, but a very feminine sensual delight too.
Don’t be afraid to mix and match fabrics and jewelry accessories. You can use a diamond and pearl-studded choker for a very dramatic effect with night-time teddies. Feathers are a fun accessory that is very appropriate for lingerie and can add a bit of lightness and playfulness to the lingerie outfit. They also add a softness and peek-a-boo effect to the diamond jewelry you choose to wear with them. The trend towards bringing out the soft feminine virtues of Goddess beauty and perfection can bring a sense of playfulness and drama to your night-time trysts. If you want to make it even more fun, bring your partner along to help you pick out the lingerie and jewelry outfit you intend to wear later.
