McQueen Launches First Men’s Underwear Collection

April 9, 2010 by Bruna

We love bringing our readers the latest in women’s lingerie here on The Lingerie Post, but given the circumstances, today we’re featuring a little bit of men’s! The fashion industry was shocked when news broke about Alexander McQueen’s death earlier this year, but now the late designer is pulling a Tupac with the upcoming launch of a men’s underwear collection he was working on before passing.

The fall/winter 2010 collection features four ranges: basic, fashion, sleepwear and loungewear, and will be available on AlexanderMcQueen.com and in stores wordwide starting in June. Retail prices range from $52.50 for a basic boxer to $444 for a silk jacquard pajama set.

And that’s not all! A swimwear collection is scheduled to launch in time for summer 2011.

“We are very enthusiastic about this launch; the development of our menswear is a priority for us and expanding the diversity of products within that sector is mandatory,” said Jonathan Akeroyd, CEO of Alexander McQueen in a release. “The underwear line places the brand in a new product and price category whilst maintaining our aesthetic, creativity and quality.”

The basic range includes boxers, briefs and vests that include an all over skull print or plain color. The fashion range draws inspiration from iconic McQueen prints and details including the feather print, x-ray, degrade and bone prints. The sleepwear range includes luxury pjs and boxers in a cotton plain color, silk and cotton blue feather print and a silk skull jacquard. Lastly, the loungewear range, which draws on military wear, incorporates lightweight jersey fabrics into long johns and classic Henley tops, and fleece for the hooded asymmetrical cardigans and track pants.

Nichole de Carle lingerie new at Silk Storm!

December 17, 2007 by Mandolina

Nichole de Carle is not a newcomer to the lingerie world, but she sure is new on TLP. After working with and for various labels (such as Alexander McQueen, DKNY and Pleasure State) since 2001, she’s been doing her own pieces since 2006 and is quickly making a name for her label in the scene. Nichole’s designs (and I’m quoting her website here): “are inspired by feminine strength as well as classical literature and architecture, and Nichole de Carle’s award winning first collection ‘DaVinci’ emphasises luxurious sensuality, with garments made from the finest silks from all over the world.”

The reason why we’re featuring the label now is because of TLP favorite Silk Storm stocking the brand from now on! They currently have an excellent basque and a bustier (with matching panties) on their website — but who knows, more may follow!

Check out the Silk Storm website AND the official Nichole de Carle site — both are very much worth a look! 🙂
