Lascivious Lingerie: Bridal collection (and a little sneak preview!)

June 13, 2007 by Mandolina

Lasciv…. La… Oh my! LASCIVIOUS. Phew. That’s better! I don’t know how Chloe Hamblen ended up calling her label Lascivious, but I hope you don’t mind me saying I think it sounds excellent! It takes some practice though, for a non-native English speaker! 😉 😀

Off course we’re not here to congratulate Lascivious on their brand name, so let’s move on to the lingerie! First up, the new Lascivious Bridal collection that’s now available on the Lascivious website. The white tulle and satin collection is absolutely gorgeous, and features eye-catching details on all the pieces. I adore the front closure strapless “Laura” bra (£76), but the true centerpiece are surely the extravagant Laura Ouverts open crotch panties (£48). Enjoy the superb photo, more on the Lascivious website!

As a little extra, we’ve got these amazing sneak previews from Lascivious’ recent launch party for their new film (check it out on their website!), the girls are wearing the upcoming AW0 — so expect more news on these soon! Enjoy!

Victoria’s Secret is evil?!

January 6, 2007 by Mandolina

It seems like the American Decency Association is getting less and less in touch with the real world these days. Check out this e-mail campaign on their website.

This is an excerpt from their sample letter:

Millions of Christian people like me spend money minute by minute in McDonald restaurants every day. You are dirtying our airwaves and thereby our children and families when you carelessly and insensitively sponsor Victoria’s Secret “Fashion” Show.

You were the only fast food restaurant to attach your name to this lust-fest. You advertised on this show in 2005 as well.

Here is what you helped bring into millions of households Tuesday night, December 5.

The women used their bodies to lure and entice while the camera focused in on barely covered crotches and breasts, mostly bare bottoms, and cleavage. And while the women seductively paraded across stage, men’s reactions were shown from the audience.

Do you want my business? Advertising on Victoria’s Secret “Fashion” Show is not the way to earn it and keep it.

In closing, I say shame on you, McDonald’s. You have not conducted yourself with excellence.

Poor people…. I sent McDonald’s an e-mail to congratulate them on their sponsorship choice…. Eat that, ADA.

Something else from their website. Their active boycotts:

Abercrombie & Fitch
Reason: Long term trend toward using sexual imagery that cheapens human dignity

Victoria’s Secret

Reason: aggressively foisting unwelcome sexual imagery upon the public via window displays, TV ads and catalogs

I pity these people…

Buying lingerie or jewellery for Christmas

November 27, 2006 by Mandolina

Kentia Barbara Lingerie ChristmasOh the drama! So many men are in doubt over these two possible Christmas presents, and so many think they’re taking the safe choice by going for jewelery. They think: “Hey, buying lingerie might make me look like a pervert, I don’t want her to think I just want to see her in close to no clothes!”. Right, that’s not what you want, but is that really the message you’re getting through to your girlfriend by getting her lingerie? I’m not too sure… 😉

First off, buying jewelry isn’t the safe choice. If you’re thinking: “Is this relationship ready for lingerie?” you should ask the same question when it comes to jewelery. That’s not a big one though, because I’m sure almost any woman would ‘forgive’ their man for buying her expensive presents ‘too early’. What I’m trying to say is: don’t be too scared!

The main reason for this post however is the whole “what message does lingerie send to my girlfriend?” question. It’s an important question to ask because it’s true some women tend to ‘read’ presents. You can’t give us girls a gigantic diamond ring and expect us to believe we’re just having casual sex. Does lingerie send the opposite message? Does it say: “Hey babe, I love the way you look naked and I’m buying something I can enjoy looking at before we do it!”?

Argentovivo.jpgNot at all, but you do have to watch out! The key is buying the right kind of lingerie, and presenting it on Christmas day accompanied with the right message. Don’t buy an open-crotch fishnet babydoll, but buy a romantic laced-up bra/thong/garter combination in romantic ‘bordeaux red’ (we’re referring to the red wine colour here ;-)). Don’t buy a $25 set but spend a little more on a true high-end brand that’ll feel so much better on her body. Buy something you like, something you think will look absolutely stunning on her. And on Christmas day, present it to her on a romantic moment, explaining why you bought it (be honest, unless you do just want to see her naked ;-)). Feel free to talk her through the whole process of selecting, shopping, and doubting. She’ll be positively surprised about the work you put in to finding the right set. Once you’ve got her there, there’s no way she’ll be unhappy with her present. Oh, and praise her beauty, we girls love that, oh ‘quel surprise’! Forget about jewellery, lingerie is the ultimate intimate Christmas present!

More from our series on Christmas shopping can be found in our dedicated category. Enjoy!
