Bela's Dead

Bela’s Dead Lingerie New Collection

September 9, 2008 by Mandolina

Bela’s Dead, one of the first labels to get featured on The Lingerie Post, hasn’t been mentioned too often in the last year. Why? Well, quite simply because there wasn’t too much Bela’s Dead news to share…

Well, today that changed when we received news from Glamorous Amorous that they’ve just stocked Jo’s newest collection for Autumn/Winter 2008-2009! I pretty much love everything but the Forbidden Fruit line is by far my favorite. I’m saving money as we speak!

Interview with Jo Lynch of Bela’s Dead

November 27, 2006 by Mandolina

Jo Lynch of Belas DeadWe love Bela’s Dead, the new Lingerie brand created by Manchester born designer Jo Lynch. Jo’s combination of delicate silk fabrics with the extra-ordinary story-telling artwork by Finnish illustrator Klaus Haapaniemi has received praise all over the lingerie world, and is finding its way into the most exclusive lingerie boutiques. We had a short talk with Jo Lynch about her brand and her personal look on lingerie and fashion.

The complete interview can be read right here in our interviews section.

A small excerpt:

“I’m not ambitious in a commercial way, or I wouldn’t have designed something as personal as Bela’s Dead, which has a very distinctive style and is not going to be for the mainstream. Actually I didn’t think about my market – or even pause to find out if I had one… but luckily there are girls out there who totally get it. They want to wear something that reflects their alternative tastes – but made to a high end standard. That’s what I love most – when a girl from Geneva or Berlin contacts me, so excited to have found her ’soul lingerie’. Some talented females like Karen O from the yeah Yeah Yeahs and Dita Von Tees have also found the brand to their taste…which is really wonderful.”

Bela’s Dead Lingerie: Unique… but nice!

November 8, 2006 by Mandolina

We’ve got a great new brand to show you today: Bela’s Dead. On their website they describe themselves like this:

“Bela’s Dead was created by Manchester born designer Jo Lynch this Autumn 06. Jo’s combination of delicate silk fabrics with the extra-ordinary story-telling artwork by Finnish illustrator Klaus Haapaniemi defines the signature style of this high end alternative lingerie label.”

The results are unique… but nice! The combination of both the silks and the artistic prints and embroideries works great, and due to the deep and dark main backgrounds you can choose it has a sort of high-class gothic look, without ever looking cheap. If you go white you’ll get a completely different look, a lot more sober and even more feminine. Yes, Jo Lynch has done it… The first Bela’s Dead collection is a mix of sexy femininity and Jo’s personal touch… Good stuff, but don’t take our word for it, check out our two favorites from the line…

Belas dead satin skull braFirst off this deluxe Satin and Tulle Fox & Skull Embroidered Bra. Check out the amazing detail on the embroidery! This high-endskull_detail.gif bra made from A-class satin is available for just under $200 at glamorousamorous.com. That’s not cheap for a bra, but due to the high quality fabrics you won’t be spending too much on this at all… The matching French knickers are $71… Here‘s a picture of the white version.

Belas Dead Silk and Mesh Fox Hunt Print BasqueNumber two is the eye-catcher of the collection. This Bela’s Dead Silk and Mesh Fox Hunt Print Basque is a stunning piece of lingerie that just radiates this is a high-end brand. The ultra thin yetbasque fox hunt detail belas dead perfectly finished basque has a very remarkable print on the front-side… The basque has lovely suspender straps, too. Combine this with the matching thong and you’ll be able to pick up the total for about $390 at Glamorous Amorous. You’ll be getting A-grade lingerie with an amazing personal touch for your cash, though…

Designer Jo Lynch sums it up quite nicely when she says: “Yes, it is all pretty personal!”. You won’t see this kind of lingerie just anywhere… This is some unique fashion, so we suggest you give it a try… I sure will! 😀
