In recent years, even store mannequins have started to fill out and become more “bootylicious†while many women become more and more dissatisfied with the smaller size of their derrières. I am absolutely not saying that anyone without a larger rear end is required to want one, but for someone who is disappointed about their lack of a badonkadonk, the only solution used to be to suck it up or wear horrifying padded underwear like these:
I guess whoever designed these didn’t realize that a great many people want a shapelier figure in order to actually seduce someone! Fear not! I’ve found a much more attractive alternative. The ladies at Bubbles Bodywear, creators of the “butt boosting” Bubble Bands sent me some LoveMyBuns padded boyshorts to try out, and they’re actually pretty cute! It is important to know, before I start this review, that my butt isn’t exactly nonexistent. It is very much there. But, in the name of reporting on lingerie trends, I have tried these anyway to report back to you good people. 😉 The photos aren’t my own – my camera has been on the fritz lately – but I think the ones that Bubbles Bodywear sent me really do reflect true results.
First impression on slipping into these is that the fabric is silky smooth and very comfortable! They did seem a smidge tight around my thighs, even after consulting the sizing chart (make sure to check it out before you buy these, because LoveMyBuns boyshorts aren’t sized like regular panties). It is definitely not bad enough for me to stop wearing them, but if you’re in between sizes or have fuller thighs, you may want to size up. I tried out two pairs of pads – one was the regular size that comes with the boyshorts, and the second was their additional X-tra thick pad set. The foam pads are inserted into a pocket in the inside rear, so there is no stitching or other construction giveaways on the outside. The stitching around the pocket was a bit discolored, but it’s not a
big problem because, after all, it’s hidden on the inside. The waistband seemed to ride a bit low in the back and I kept
pulling it up. It is designed to be low enough to wear under low-rise waistbands, however like I said I have more of a butt than most people who will be interested in this product, and I think that’s why it didn’t work for me. It wasn’t designed for my kind of body, so I don’t count that against the product itself at all. I think it will fit perfectly only anyone with a smaller booty. The X-tra thick pads did make a difference, but not a huge one. Still, at $5, they are probably worth the investment for anyone who really wants a shapelier figure.
So, how do they look? Well, I definitely think that I’ll be using these again under clingy wrap dresses and jeans when I want extra oomph. That actually surprised me – I thought I would try it out, write a review, and then not know what to do with them. But I actually really liked how I looked in certain outfits with a bit more “junk in my trunk.” It won’t be noticeable that you have on padded panties if you wear these alone in a dimly lit room, or even if your skirt flies up for a moment Marilyn-Monroe style, but I don’t think you could fool anyone standing around for inspection in broad daylight. When just wearing the panties, you can see a faint outline of the pad. But, again, nothing at all bad enough to keep anyone from wearing it under tight clothes.
The score:
Comfort:8/10
Sexiness: 7/10
Value for money: 9/10
Practicality: 10/10
Style: 8/10
The verdict: I was impressed with the whole product. They did what they promised and the whole thing is very cute and comfortable. Admittedly, they are bigger than your average panties, even many boyshorts, but considering their purpose I think they do a very nice job of keeping the whole thing cute and that’s why the “sexiness” rating didn’t suffer much. All in all, it’s refreshing for everyone not to have to resort to those ugly panties!
