Despi Swimwear for 2010

November 13, 2009 by Mandolina

Despi Swimwear is yet another young Brazilian swimwear and beachwear label quickly making their move into the US market thanks to a huge push towards retailers and excellent value for money combined with sexy & classy designed. Designer Despina Filios (based in Rio De Janeiro, and spearheaded as “the new face of Brazilian beach fashion” by the Brazilian Press) partners her love of swimwear with great business sense – and that results in the 2007-launched label growing quickly in these tough times for starting businesses.

This collection is brand new for the 2010 Summer season – and won’t be available in shops for a while. Don’t expect cheap – but expect “the real deal”. 18kt Gold detailing, inspired designs – and authentic Brazilian beach looks!

In these photos – Brazilian model Bianca Klamt Motta!

KanDi Swim by Dani Kates Swimwear 2009

August 21, 2009 by Mandolina

The summer season is almost over – so I realize it’s a little silly for me to be showing you a swimwear line for this season – but I like this ’09 collection by Dani Kates so much that I decided it was worth a quick mention on TLP anyway…

KanDi Swim by Dani Kates 2009 Collection encourages the mixing and matching of separates, embellished with all kinds of great detailing like hand-embroidered leaves, hand-beading of “sprinkles”and appliqués of ruffles. KanDi Swim bases its design philosophy around specifically creating these interchangeable pieces, consisting of the finest European fabrics that, in their words “look as good as they feel”.

The 2009 collection is inspired by desserts, and with sets named “Cupcake”, “Black & White Cookie”, “Linzer Tart” or “Lemon Meringue”, it’s sure to satisfy any women’s sweet tooth.

You can shop this collection right now at KandiSwim.com!

Leg Avenue’s Skinny Dip Swimwear

April 15, 2009 by Rene

Started in 1984, Leg Avenue has grown from a small family owned company into a juggernaut of mid-priced lingerie. The company fueled their growth by capturing the costume market. Leg Avenue costumes consists of hundreds of shrink wrap costumes every year. They also retain their focus on hosiery with over 300 different SKUs in their distribution channel. Recently, they’ve added shoes and a swimwear line called Skinny Dip.

The line is divided into a Day Collection of flirty styles and a Night Collection which offers more sophisticated pieces. Leg Avenue has an enormous distribution network with hundreds if not thousands of independent businesses that resell the product. Many of those companies sell their product through Amazon’s marketplace. Pricing ranges from $15-60 US.

The 2009 University Swimwear line has been released on the Andres Sarda site a couple weeks ago – but only now we’ve gotten our hands on some higher resolution photos of the beautiful pieces in the collection.

Surprisingly vintage, Andres Sarda‘s University label is really looking glamorous as ever. I’m absolutely loving this line, so in stead of showing you a couple photos – here’s a boatload! 😉

Pistol Panties Swimwear

January 3, 2009 by Rene

Deborah Fleming is the designer behind Pistol Panties swimwear. The British/Colombian designer aims for combining quirky style and feminine glamour. Deborah began the business in the early 2000s with hand crafted pieces she made in her kitchen. She sold them all to Selfridges and they sold out within a week. From their, the brand took off with a lot of hard work from Deborah overseeing fabric prints, cuts, and manufacturing. Today, Pistol Panties can be found at Saks Fifth Avenue, Barneys, Selfridges, Villa Moda, and Deborah’s own store in Notting Hill. Deborah’s site suggests that Pistol Panties are available at Figleaves, but I couldn’t find them. I did find them at NYC’s Catriona Mackechnie and online here as well as Bordello in London and online here. Deborah is also running an online store.
