Marie Cazenave’s Le Boudoir de Marie

April 19, 2009 by Rene

Marie Cazenave is the designer behind the French brand Le Boudoir de Marie. Le Boudoir de Marie runs their corporate site from book.fr which is a cross between etsy, myspace, and bebo. The brand can also be found on myspace; however, to buy pieces, I’ve only been able to find them on the fabulous French lingerie site, French Lingerie Shop.

The brand is made up of many types of custom corsets. Marie seems to be inspired by many things including the pin-ups of the 1950s and of course the fabled boudoir of generations gone by. Most of the pieces are in sizes from 34 to 48 in cup sizes from A to E. Marie does bespoke pieces for weddings or any other uses in any sizes.

Le Boudoir de Marie

These photos are from Le Boudoir de Marie and photographer Helena Lemeunier. Since everything is made by hand, pricing reflects the amount of time that is put into each piece. The dark corset shown above is the Afrique and is €300.00. The pink corset shown below is the Cabaret and is €580.00.

Le Boudoir de Marie

These are very cute designs and TLP looks forward to a wider audience and more pieces for Le Boudoir de Marie.

Bespoke with Louise Feuillere

September 12, 2008 by Rene

Louise Feuillère is a corsettiere. She has recently won the 2008 award for Meilleur Ouvrier de France or roughly Best Craftsman in France for Lingerie. Louise Feuillère works in the traditional way of Haute Couture. Her designs are made to measure to your own specifications. As such, to place an order you will need to make an appointment at her boutique and show up for several fittings. An additional three weeks are needed for delivery after the final fitting.

Louise offers

  • Corsetry: wired or wireless brassieres, basques, knickers, bloomers, corselettes, suspender belts, waist cinchers.
  • Day and evening lingerie: loungwear, underskirts, half and full slips, camisoles
  • Cruise: one or two piece swimming suits, elegant loungewear

Photos courtesy of the site. Visit at louisefeuillere.com. There is some mention of an online shop in 2008 and possibly a diffusion line from Louise Feuillère. TLP will continue to follow this story.

Ell & Cee Lingerie

July 29, 2008 by Mandolina

We quickly mentioned Ell & Cee when we posted about Fabulicious, the new France-based online lingerie boutique, and we were very impressed with what we saw. Perfectly timed, Ell & Cee provided us with what we were hoping for earler this week: a brand new website with lots of pretty pics of their luxurious collections (both the regular as the bridal collection are very intimate and pretty and well worth checking out!). Even though the collections are very retro-inspired, the overload of frills makes Ell & Cee a very fresh and perky little label…

Pricing is not outrageous, handmade sets start at +/- £90 ($180) – knickers at £35 ($70).

For more about the label, check the excellent about Ell & Cee page on the Ell & Cee website! 🙂

Our favorites from both Ell & Cee’s collections:

Lily Chemise Ell & Cee Lingerie
Amelie Antique Ell & Cee Lingerie
Just Married Silk Knickers Ell & Cee Lingerie
Candy Calipso Ell & Cee Lingerie
Bardot Crochet Ell & Cee Lingerie

Kate Gibson Lingerie: Made-to-Measure for Petites

July 10, 2008 by Brenda

Kate Gibson Lingerie, a British company, specializing in handmade bras, knickers and nightgowns for women who traditionally wear AA, A, BB, or B bras, up to a 34B, sources only the finest silks and laces for their exclusive made-to-measure creations. In addition to the quality silks and laces, the company sources limited edition fabric that is used in top fashion houses around the world. The garments are described as beautiful but fragile and are sought after for their luxurious and unique designs.

Kate Gibson Lingerie’s workmanship process is extremely fascinating as a new pattern is fabricated for each customer. Even more interesting is the fact that all the pieces are cut by hand even though some bras use upwards of thirty individual sections. The pieces are then sewn together by an experienced seamstress using a highly precisioned machine. Beads, embroidery and other fancy embellishments are then meticulously sewn on by hand. The last stage in the process is to check the exact measurements of the garment ensuring they are correct for the intended customer and then the garment is given one last quality control check. Once the garment is approved, it is shipped to the customer. The whole detail oriented process from receipt of order to shipping takes as many as eight weeks.

Kate Gibson Petite Handmade Lingerie

So fastidious with sizing and fit, the company does not even use standard sizes of wires, bands and straps. Each add-on piece is custom fitted to the woman’s size so that when finished, the garment is perfectly made. Even the thickness of the garment relates to the woman’s real body so that she does not encounter any discomfort when wearing the undergarments.

Although, the company sells bras, knickers and nightgowns, it is not possible to order knickers alone. The customer chooses the type of knicker, whether it is bikini, demi-bikini or brief, and then the company makes a set to match. In addition to the everyday petite lingerie sets, they also offer a stunning Bridal Collection.

Kate Gibson Lingerie is truly Haute Couture — more info on their official website!

Veronika Kotlajic’s Narcisse Designs for 2008

July 10, 2008 by Rene

Hauteur Haute Couture. Classically seductive. Teasingly Provocative. Uninhibited. These are the words Narcisse Designs uses to define themselves. I’d add some more including Costumer, Bespoke, Lingerie, and Fantasy. This company makes “small-batch” collections – mostly for their current patrons and some select new customers. The clothes are custom tailored. You can buy from their current themed collection, or request something completely your own. Narcisse is especially skilled in creating an homage to your favorite sci-fi character. Veronika Kotlajic is the designer behind the brand and clothing is just one of her many interests/careers including artist, web designer, former Playboy model, photographer, fetish model, fashion model, erotic art gallery owner, and probably other things she doesn’t promote. This year, the collection is inspired by the movie Blade Runner. The collection was photographed by Jeffrey David Cohn, Jeffery Scott, and Michael Rosen. In previous years, Veronika has taken inspiration from a modern, female interpretation of the bible; comic book heroines; vampires and vampire hunters, as well as mythology. Here are some of the pieces from the 2008 collection. View thumbnails of some of the past offerings from Narcisse at the end of this article.

On the left, a faux alligator dress for $750 on the right a soft vinyl zip-front unitard for $1700.

Sheer hooded unitard for $320 and feather skirt for $650.

From Veronika’s lingerie collection, this faux pearl strand dress is $1900

The cabaret lace bra and briefs are $90 a piece.

Order directly from the website. Delivery can take up to six weeks. Find more from Narcisse at their website.
