The Folies by Renaud are synonymous of exquisite and embody the new sexy French chic. I find that they fit somewhere between exotic string maker Lola Luna, US lingerie mainstay Frederick’s of Hollywood, and super kit maker Trashy. Folies by Renaud has been creating lingerie for more than 30 years in France. The pieces are frequently in black, use embroidered mesh, sophisticated fishnet, or many kinds of lace.
Folies is clearly skilled in tools of typical seduction. The collection is peppered with quarter cup bras, open cup bras, straps, strings, suspender belts, and many ouvert knickers. This is an enormous product line. There are nine open cup bras, eight quarter cup bras, ten half cup bras, along with twenty five other bras. Recently, the company has expanded distribution in Canada and the USA so there are no additional over sea parcel charges. This is handled by Facette in the US. Facette also imports Patrice Catanzaro. Facette can facilitate new retailers in the US through wholesale relations.
With the international expansion, Folies by Renaud observed the need to offer broader ranges of sizes. The bras are now available 30 to 40 D (no larger cups at this time) and the g-strings, sizes from S to XL. For the US, bras typically in stock are 32-34-36 cup B and S-M-L for the g-strings, the other sizes will be manufactured on demand and therefore require a longer lead time than the standard delivery. Pricing is about £20-30 / $30-50 for knickers and £40-60 / $55-70 for bras. The site is available in French, German, and English. Photos courtesy of Folies by Renaud.
