Pretty knickers and bra tops in exquisite silks and cottons with fancy bows, frills and little button adornments are the signature garments of Luva Huva by Joanna Ketterer. A London, UK designer, Joanna graduated from the Surrey Institute of Art and Design in 2004. Initially creating wall hangings, she felt that she wanted to design items that would be more practical and that used gorgeous fabrics. She tried sewing a pair of knickers and saw that there was a market for unique, luxury underwear so she decided to focus on the pretty underpants.
All of her knickers are handmade and orders are taken through Joanna’s website and small offline shops. A sweet and delicate collection, there are seven pictures of available knickers on the website ranging in colours of pink, blue, purple, yellow, peach and red in both solid colours and prints. Because the knickers are made from end of line remnants and throw away pieces, I would assume that the colours and prints seen are not the actual material that is received. It appears as though when ordering, the customer chooses the design and provides all information relating to her choice of knickers.
Further, the knickers come in two types, both French with the open leg, and Anglaise with elastic around the leg. The key ingredients in the making of the beautiful knickers is comfort and feminine styling and one can clearly see by the photos that these are definitely made for classy ladies. The bra tops are triangle shaped tops with tie strings around the neck and under the bust.
Although the website seems to be from 2006, there are many recent testimonials throughout the internet from women indicating that the garments are excellent quality and beautifully made. Considering the raw materials are scrap pieces of fabric, this tiny eco-lingerie label is truly decadent.
These panties are really darling and sweet! Thanks for telling us about them! 😉
