In this series, TLP will narrow our coverage of lingerie around the globe and focus on the country of Poland. Poland has a long history of textile manufacturing and since the collapse of the Soviet Union, Poland has been embracing market economies. Freed from quotas and mandated manufacturing, many Polish textile companies are stepping on to the world stage.
Caprice is a Polish lingerie company that is sort of a mystery. Caprice is not related to the Model Caprice that was featured previously. The website is in Polish. The site only show the 2006 and 2007 collections. The company distribution seems to be mainly through independent retailers. Those retailers don’t seem to carry the brand. The company store continues the mystery. Find the store here: http://www.c-sklep.pl. The store offers only the 2004 and 2005 collections. Prices for bras are ~35 zt and knickers are 15 zt (~17, 8 US and ~9, 4 UK). Sizing is toward the median with 85C being about the largest bra made.
I suspect that Caprice may be a business on the losing side of the intense competition around Polish lingerie manufacturing. The 2007 collection was well done. It carried a certain Polish flair for the ornate, but it would be lovely for a special evening. Most of the photo shoot was inside a limousine. I’m not sure why the model is handcuffed to the car in one of the shots.
