I happened upon a site earlier this week while browsing for some new and unique king size bed sheets. Although I did see some lovely duvet covers, I was surprised to find that the same site was selling a large selection of beautiful lingerie. Upon closer inspection, I realized that the undergarments were in fact the company’s own label called John Lewis. I was intrigued to see this department store selling everything from cookware to luxury fashions. My assumption, however, is that anyone living in Scotland or England would know the store intimately shopping there on a regular basis.
The John Lewis Romance Collection in ivory lace is considered the bridal line that includes a strapless bra, bustier, thong, boyshorts, and garter belt. Sleep or loungewear is found in the soft cotton Jacqueline Spa Grey Collection comprised of a long sleeved pyjama top, drawstring waist pyjama pant and belted robe.
Moving on to the Geisha group of bustier, bra and shorts, this is a sexier style with red orchids on black satin and delicate lace embellishments. Fun and flirtatious is the Renee Camelia ensemble consisting of pink underwire bra with lace highlights around the breasts, pretty thong adorned with sweet bow and lace legs, and the feminine shorts with lace waist and legs. The cotton beetroot pink polka dot bra and panties are just as cute with perfect spring elements.
While all the John Lewis lines are fun, sexy and downright beautiful, it appears that the sizes run small from size eight to size fourteen, limiting the number of women who might wear the line. But then who would have imagined finding such nice lingerie while looking for bed sheets?
As well as the John Lewis brand of lingerie, the store stocks luxury lines by Fantasie, Lejaby, Gossard, Royce, Freya and Elle Macpherson.
