Miss Mandalay Lingerie – A/W 2007

August 7, 2007 by Bert

Miss Mandalay lingerie has been designed exclusively for women with a full bust and small back measurement, with the support where it is needed yet with elegant design and sexy style in mind. Designer and founder, Lorraine Morton launched Miss Mandalay after becoming frustrated by the underwear & swimwear on offer to women like herself, who found it difficult to find pretty underwear due to their large cup size, but small frame.

Miss Mandalay’s high-end boutique collection is simply called “Miss Mandalay” and includes a fantastic range of luxury lingerie in gorgeous bright colours including emerald green, ginghams, pale and deep pinks and classic black silhouettes, made from top fabrics and available in sizes 30”B-36”G. This Autumn will also see the second season of Miss Mandalay’s diffusion line called “Little Miss” which offers beautiful ‘everyday’ fashion lingerie that still has a strong emphasis on style and fit.

Colourways in this collection include plenty of deep hues such as midnight blue, scarlet red and hot pink but also incorporates clean and crisp dazzling white on the opposite end of the spectrum! Underwear in the “Little Miss” range will be on sale at leading lingerie retailers including Bravissimo and Figleaves and will be available in sizes 28”D-38”G.

I have mixed feelings about MIss Mandalay. The designs are, granted, gorgeous. But I ordered one online and when I got it I was underwhelmed. It *fit*, but it wasn’t very supportive. It took me a while to figure out the problem – while the band was tight enough, I don’t think the seams of the cups curved up enough, and it was almost like I was expected to tighten the straps for support + shaping. But that’s uncomfortable, and poor bra design. So I sadly returned it 🙁

I find Miss Mandalay to make really good bras, that look great and fit well. As a busty woman i’m glad that someone is making bras that actually look sexy. Not every bra needs to be a pushup/pull ’em up vehicle! If you’re a 34b you can find bras of all shape & sizes, so thank God for Miss Mandalay’s colourful bras that do ‘fit’ and look good to boot!
