Flora Lastraioli lingerie reminds me of the nightdresses those ladies wore. Exquisitely made gowns displaying fastidiously embroidered masterpieces on expensive silks. How could anyone not look beautiful? The various collections use a combination of several of the best fabrics in the world. Silk, satin, jersey, cotton and georgette in whites, creams, canary yellows, vibrant greens with black trims, deep hues of orange, crimson and blue, and delicate pink, blue and green pastels.

Each piece is finely crafted. Robes with sleeves of embroidered flowers and petals, bodices with white intricate inlays in beautiful pink silk and thick embroidery down the front of the garments with little bows or buttons to close the garment. While EMI staples such as Coranto, Dentelle, Sheer Ribbons, Spellbound, and Harmonies will appear in new colourways, new silhouettes will also be introduced. Look for fall to incoporate lots of rich and luscious jewel tones at the onset and fade into sweet, softer shades towards winter. Additionally, the collection will include a lot of “surprise” backs to the bikinis using sheer mesh and lace.

In August, you’ll meet Revel, one of the new stand out pieces. In vibrant shades of green, this sassy set is available in an underwire bra as well as matching bikini or thong. Another something special being introduced in August are the satin Seductions bikinis. They feature a seamless fit and are offered in 6 assorted colors (including Pearl, Daffodil Yellow, and Blue Plastic). Sheen, arriving this fall in both Jet and Iris Purple, is a new silhouette identified by its whimsical, sequin detailing. November ushers in Captive, a fun, flirty polka dot print. The Contour Bra, Culotte, and Thong are all composed of both satin and lace. Another print for fall is Echo. Incorporating shades of orange and purple, this fun and feisty set is edged in lace. It’s unfortunate we have to wait until December for Monarque! In Bleached Apricot, this sweet and flirty set is accented both under the bust and along the leg with delicate bows.

I was fortunate enough to see the pieces up close and personal so I can vouch that they are as amazing as they look in pictures. That wasn’t the only treat. The namesake of the brand (yes, the Elle Macpherson) showed me her personal favorites in the collection!

So, what are my favorites? There are quite a few, but I’ll give you the highlights of what you should check out month to month.

In February, the EMI, corsetry-inspired staple Dentelle arrives in Strawberry Ice, a rich pink with contrasting lemon trim. March brings a color palette including a soft, angelic pink and vibrant peacoat blue. Ornez is particularly glamorous featuring a stretch silk layered with embroidery and lace. In April, Rumeur is sure to be a fan favorite. The half-cup contour bra, in stretch printed satin of cream and warm charcoal, flatters any bust line with its lace and grosgrain ribbon trim. I am especially a fan of the coordinating bikini. With its sheer back, it leaves just enough to the imagination.

For May, I like the gathered look of the vintage-inspired Signet in Warm Charcoal (seen here in Angelwing Pink). In June, be sure to check out Adorn. Sheer mesh in Spanish nude is accented by exposed construction detailing. Delightful! Lastly, for July, I love the lush wine coloring of the feminine, half-cup Artistry collection (seen here in Peacoat Blue).

Even more sophistication is found in the Boudoir collection. I like the Antique Green chemise. A silky little something with French lace cups is classic and elegant. The unique and striking contrast between the apricot and powder blue is lovely in the Dusky Apricot collection.
