Many of us own sarongs but are not that creative or inventive when tying them on the body. It does not matter how many instruction websites I read, my sarong never really looks nice when tied. So I wondered how other women keep their sarongs attached especially when they use them as beach dresses. I thought about a brooch but that would only put a nasty hole in the beautiful sarong. Everything I thought about had pins of some kind and that just would not be acceptable. So I looked around and found other women complaining about the same thing but they had a solution – pretty lacquered coconut buckles.

The handy little trinkets are perfect! They look like shells with two holes. When you tie your sarong, the right side of the sarong or pareo goes through one hole while the left side is pulled through the other hole. You then tie the two pieces into a bow or knot and voilà your sarong stays in place. The coconut buckle is also pretty when it is visible and does not mar your lovely fabric.

On the left is an excellent picture of how the coconut buckle works — more how to on their site!

Head over to Beachwear.cc and read their post about Tan Through Swimwear. Let me quote Tammi:

“It’s not see-through either wet or dry, the material is breathable to prevent sweating, it is made with fast drying material and is easy to wash, [...], it is weightless and feels like a second skin”

Plus, you can tan your whole body without actually going naked on a public beach. Ha! That’s brilliant!

I’m a bit dissapointed in the styles the cooltan.com website has to offer, but that was to be expected. Time for the more stylish labels to pick up this fabric and turn it into sexy swimwear!

They say that necessity is the mother of invention. And so it is true with the newest fashion accessory, the Bosom Button. Designed by a woman who was tired of trying to hide a safety pin to keep her wrap dress closed. She had a brilliant ‘light bulb’ moment…why not create a pin that can be worn on the outside and be fashionable?

These new little ‘must haves’ are high quality. Made with Swarovski crystals, or other fine gemstones, the Bosom Button is quick to use, wonderfully fashionable and very functional. Who would think that one little pin could do so much?

Use on low cut tops to prevent that ‘peep show’

Keep a wrap top from becoming unwrapped

Secure a sari to the shoulder

Keep a sarong snuggly around the hips

Help a heaving pregnant bosom stay in place

Secure a shawl around the shoulders

Decorate any piece of apparel

First of all, though, the Bosom Button is a functional women’s accessory designed to minimize cleavage on low cut tops — a more chique alternative to double sided fashion tape. Off course, more info and info on where to get your own Bosom Buttons is on bosombutton.com!
