The Star in a Bra competition is a great opportunity for us to find naturally curvy models and for our customers to step into the spotlight and show how gorgeous a fuller figure can look. It could even kick-start a whole new modelling career!”

Fantasie has built up such a strong brand by offering bras to women whose bra sizes aren’t offered by many companies because of the large cup size and small band size. Still, there are full-figured women that even Fantasie leaves out because most of their designs are only offered up to about a 40 band (depending on the style). Now Eveden, makers of Fantasie, is offering a line called Elomi to include the most voluptuous women. This new brand offers bras and basques in sizes up to a 52 band and H cup. If you’ve ever admired a Fantasie set and were disappointed that your size wasn’t offered, this may be your chance! Although few bras are exact copies, the styles bear a strong resemblance. Some designs are altered by the addition of a fourth panel, which helps support and shape the fullest of figures while keeping your breast tissue from spilling out of the cups.The style names may be different, but the bras themselves look strikingly similar when you compare them side by side. We get sick and tired of being reminded that we are slightly bigger and if companies truly want to make a difference and sell more product, they need to listen to a large segment of the female market which is the plus size niche.

I really had to laugh the other day when I read a post on a beachwear site. The post itself was great, as the author was indignant that although the swimwear company she reviewed offered plus sizes, the models they used were very small and well sculpted. Another fashion site continued the debate by adding that the company obviously was not thinking when it chose such perfect bodies to display size 2X bikinis. The site went on to say that people do not want to see two hundred pound women in bikinis. On the contrary, that is the point and the basis for the outcry from plus size women. If they are to take a company seriously and buy their swimwear or lingerie, they need to see it on like women. Who cares whether someone else does not want to see larger women? The person with the money is the plus size lady buying the suit.

Anyway, now that I have started this debate, I plan to write another article featuring lingerie and swimwear companies who take this niche seriously and use plus size lingerie models in their photo shoots.
