Creating the right images to speak for the brand is so critical for sales and PR. To be honest, I didn’t quite get it right for the first collection so I wanted to learn from that. With 2 shoots behind me I also felt more confident and brave so wanted to make a bolder statement about the brand. So…bigger budget, new model, new photographer, open mind…

I found a fantastic photographer ‘Hugh Miller’ who was very easy to collaborate with. A true creative who listened, suggested and pushed the possibilities (and delivered). We ended up using the back-drop of a gritty, industrial mill to set-off the luxury of the silks. Watching the shoot I could see the gowns evoking a grace and elegance in the model – despite the location and the cold – which is captured beautifully in the photographs. Very satisfying to witness as that’s exactly how I want women to respond when wearing the gowns.

“The main point to fashion photography is to show off the product, one can spend all the time in the world setting the scene with hair and make-up, fancy lighting etc. but if you can’t see the clothes what’s the point? To any photographers starting out; make sure your studio has a nice sofa, clients won’t come back unless they can sit comfortably with a coffee and watch the show!”
