It is no surprise that Sean Puffy Combs showed up for L.A. Fashion Week. His career is similar to Robin Antin, the woman behind the Pussycat Dolls. Since 1995, PCD has grown from a modern day burlesque troupe to a recording star. PCD even has a reality TV show. Antin is a busy woman controlling and overseeing all of the PR for PCD. Her most recent idea? Lingerie. It is hard to not think of the old sportscaster joke about “I went to a fight last night and a hockey game broke out.” So, L.A. Fashion Week closed with a lingerie show and it somehow morphed into a Pussycat Dolls live event. Shocking. Robin isn’t opposed to promoting herself as is evident by the tag line “Pussycat Dolls, by Robin Antin”.

“The lingerie line was inspired by punk-rock music and old-fashioned pinup girls”, Antin said. She called it “shhh” because it’s “our little secret.” “What we’re wearing under our clothes is our little secret,” she said. “It’s something that every woman shares.” With such a broad influence, trying to pinpoint a signature style is difficult. The lingerie paraded on the runway included micro skirts, dangling suspenders, lace, sailor stripes, hoodies, prints, and graffiti.

Strangely, even with a splashy debut, I’m not sure where “shhh” is being sold. It doesn’t seem to be part of the line up for shhhlingerie.co.uk, but I’m guessing they’ll benefit from some increased traffic to their site.

I’m sure, wherever “shhh” ends up, it will do well. I’m not sure “shhh” will become the Lejaby or Chantelle in 20 or 30 years.

From lead Pussycat Doll Nicole Sherzinger to yours truely, any girls who likes to wear some lingerie that stands out every once in a while knows and appreciates the amazing sexiness and bondage-feel femininity of Marlies Dekkers lingerie. We’ve written about Marlies Dekkers before, but haven’t really reviewed a specific bra for you girls just yet… Well, time to change that with some personal opinions about this beautiful and special Marlies Dekkers Maori underwire bra.

I bought this bra in the Marlies Dekkers boutique in Antwerp, on the Nationalestraat. This boutique has great staff, and a great choice of Marlies Dekkers lingerie. The shop feels private, and every once in a while they have mini-events that create a great atmosphere around the brand and the boutique. I’ve seen models showing a new collection in the store, with customers being served champagne… Just to show you this is not your average boutique. I also received personal assistance in picking the right size, being sized a cup higher than most of the time (you can imagine the smile on my face the rest of that night)…

Anyway, back to the Maori underwire bra. The typical Marlies Dekkers design looks amazing, but the true power of Marlies Dekkers lingerie can only be felt. The amazing fit of this underwire is what you can expect with any Marlies Dekkers bra, and it’s probably the reason why it’s quickly becoming the most popular brand in The Netherlands and Belgium amongst the young and fashionable. I wear this bra about one day a week, and I’ve had no problems what so ever…. The occasional eyes slipping because of the sexy strings attached to the cups aren’t always what you’d want, but hey… There are sacrifices when you want to look good…

This bra inspired by Maori tribal tattoos is available at figleaves for $89, which is about what I payed… Too bad you won’t get a glass of champagne with your online purchase, though…
