Red Carter / Jessica Simpson Swimwear

Separates range between $40 and $50, while suits retail between $80 and $100.  The line is now available at select Macy’s stores across the U.S. and on the Jessica Simpson Collection Web site.

Now we know when we’ll finally get to see it! Women’s Wear Daily reported that Jessica Simpson Intimates will launch in the spring of 2009. The line will feature bras, panties, sleepwear, daywear, and seamless shapewear for your clingiest outfits. Jessica said,

“I like different lingerie for different occasions. I think that’s the best thing about it. You can feel sexy or girly depending on your mood.”

I, for one, am getting impatient. We here at TLP knew about this more than a year ago! It’s about time to show us what she has to offer! Of course, last year we were told the line would come out in the Autumn of 2007, so I’ll wait to believe this most recent news until I see it with my own eyes!

Jessica apparently played a big part in designing the swimsuits, but who really knows. What I do know is that these photo’s are way too small — so once we have real photos we’ll make sure to bring some more in-dept info here on The Lingerie Post!

The designing duo will be among the many designers, including Jessica Simpson, featured at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Miami Swim.If you can manage to make your way in to the exclusive event being held at The Raleigh Hotel, Badgley Mischka will be showing today, July 11th at 7 pm. The newly 27-year-old Jessica will be displaying her collection on Saturday the 14th at 9 pm.

Will there be an aura of evening elegance in the Badgley Mischka collection or will they reinvent their signature style? Will Jessica feature ginghams and polka dots or surprise us with metallics and leather? I’m already excited to see the photos when they post!

Launching this Fall 2007, the line consists of lingerie, night/loungewear and day styles. Initially launching in major department and specialty stores nationwide this Fall, the line looks to expand worldwide by Fall of 2008. “The collection is fun, flirty and exactly what I would want to wear,” says Jessica Simpson.

I am interested to see what she comes up with. I’m slightly embarrassed to say I still really like her (even though I don’t like her music), despite the fact that the tabloids have put her through the ringer recently. I think she’s so sweet and beautiful in a way that will translate well to lingerie and loungewear styles.

UPDATE: After doing more research, I did find out that Simpson was inspired to create this line after being frustrated with bra shopping herself because of the small selection available for larger cup sizes. No word yet on exact sizes, but I’ll let you guys know as soon as I find out! Now it totally makes sense that she teamed up with Vestiny, which is the company that sells the Solution Cami, a cami with a built-in bra for larger cup sizes, and the line B.B. Curves, which is a line dedicated to larger cup sizes. Now I’m even more excited!
