From answering a customer query to packing an order – I’ve done the lot. But one of my favourite tasks is opening some of the parcels when new designs arrive in for the first time. And I can often be found hanging around stores when we are expecting the new arrivals, so that I can offer my assistance. Even though I may have seen samples and been involved in the decision to stock the items, I am still like a kid at Christmas when the first boxes arrive.

Toulouse Bustier LuxxaThis is a time of year when we have a lot of new lingerie coming in, like this lovely bustier from the new Toulouse range from Luxxa. This is one of my own personal favourites among the new designs.

But behind the initial pleasure of parcel opening there is some anxiety. I can’t help wondering if we have chosen a winner or made a massive mistake and will be discounting like mad in a month or so to get rid of the line! Last year we tried asking our customers via our monthly newsletter what they thought of some of the designs we were considering. It seemed a good democratic way to make our stocking decisions and a sure fire way of ensuring items would sell but the responses were so variable we were scared to use the results as the basis for our decisions and carried on as before.

This brings me to how we make our purchasing decisions. Obviously we study trends and our own sales statistics. We also have a wish list facility on the site and we pull statistics from that in addition to reading The Lingerie Post avidly to pick up on the buzz among true lingerie fanatics.tiny micro g-string from Lola Luna Then there are basic factors like quality standards and our house style but after that we are left with gut instinct. Yes, I did say gut instinct and finally, most important of all – wow factor. A new addition to our range must be capable of taking breath away. It may not always be my breath – it is a team decision after all. But the Toulouse design from Luxxa was definitely a heart stopping moment for me, while this amazingly tiny micro g-string from Lola Luna did it for Jen, my assistant and general woman of all work who puts me to shame for the number of hours she works – thanks Jen.

It is not an accident that I chose Luxxa and Lola Luna as examples of our purchasing decisions. They were two of the brands we launched the business with in 2006 and they are expert in producing heart stopping sexy lingerie. Even more “micro” than microwear, this product promises to keep panty lines and tan lines at bay. How? By eliminating the straps that even the teeniest of swimwear and tiniest of thongs always have. You can see this model holding wearing a C-String and holding one in her hand (shaped like a “C”, of course). It holds stiff with a bit of wire that you basically just stick inC-String Bikini Top your rear end like a thong, and it presumably holds still.

I can’t help but wonder about the comfort (or lack thereof) a wearer will experience with wire up her butt, and I would be afraid the thing would fall down and out my skirt, honestly. I found a review of the product at the Daily Mail. The author seems very convinced that the C-String will never be a part of her wardrobe again, and she basically mirrors my thoughts about it – I think the whole thing is pretty bizarre and I won’t ever be bold enough to wear one! But for anyone daring enough to wear this, I suppose it is the ultimate solution to hiding panty lines!

The website also offers teeny-tiny bikini tops to complete the ensemble (there are other styles offered that offer more coverage, but if you’re already in a C-string, why not go all the way?)

Sounds good, no? Well, their stuff looks very Brazilian indeed, and they even have some non-micro pieces too. My first choice is this very extravagant connected bikini. Show your cleavage but don’t feel like you’re naked: I love it! The thong-styled backside is a little bit daring for me, but I can imagine myself giving it a go on a private beach for a first try ;) . It’s only $72.00, so that’s not too bad at all!

A close second is their true micro bikini. The widest point on the front of the thong is two (!) inches, so you better get that brazilian wax soon! The triangle bikini covers up more than the bottom, but still shows loads and loads of skin. As the microkittens say it: “not one for the faint of heart!”.
