What I particularly love about the S/S collection is the variety of unique silhouettes that designer, Adam Sakara, uses to captivate the eye including kimonos, bralettes, tap shorts, rompers, and more.  I also love the versatility of the pieces.  Not only can they be mixed and matched to create new looks, but a number of pieces are able to double as outerwear as well as innerwear.  My favorite innerwear as outerwear piece would have to be the romper.  In both ivory and black, the piece is striking and could easily be incorporated into an outfit for a night on the town.   Another favorite feature of this collection is the subtlety of the colorways.  With simple, yet elegant combinations like black and ivory, black and lavender, gray and pink, and pink and ivory, the intricacy of the design shines through.

According to Glamorous Amorous, Strumpet & Pink was founded in 2002 by Lisa Z Morgan and Melanie Probert. They focus on limited-edition handmade knickers, using pure silk, satin, chiffon, and crepe. Morgan and Probert say of their creations,

“Our prime concern; how does a woman actually feel when she wears one of our creations. It is this experience that makes our knickers beautiful. Strumpet & Pink achieve this by embodying the sensibilities of the flower i.e beauty, fragility, sexuality and joy and combining these with the sensuous qualities of pure silk crepe, satin, chiffon and tulle. The knickers are cut on the bias in such a way as to trace and disclose the contours of the female form. The only drawback? The price. You’ll have to save your pennies for these – if you even have to ask, you probably can’t afford it Prices vary, but you can expect to pay £200 to over £500 for these beauties. Janet Reger’s Couture collection is (what’s in a name) the classy, high-end Janet Reger. This summer ‘09 collection – available in selected boutiques right now, is a true stunner.

“Learn the silent language of enticement and become the heroine as the story unfolds, an evocative silk-layered tale.”

Totally different from the bold colors we’re used to see in the Naughty Janet line – the pastels in this retro-like collection have a great soft and intimate feel to them. According to the designer, the colors are inspired by “crème brulee, nougat, lip gloss and lemon meringue” – and that can’t ever be a bad thing, now can it?

Soft tones and fabrics (lace, crepe-de-chine, pleated chiffons and obviously sweet silks), great attention to detail as we’ve come to expect from Janet Reger and a lovely romantic mood that just drips off the collection. Very convincing!

The designer says: “Soft chiffons cascade with contrast ruffles adding volume to the sweetest of lingerie we’ve ever made. Delicate gathers and minute attention to detail embrace this summer’s romantic mood. Airy transparency gives way to elegance and grace.”
