Farr West was founded by Jack and Iris Farr in 1968. Over 40 years later, the company is still family owned and managed. Farr West garments are made in the USA under the labels Farr West, Lindsey Roscoe, and Lindsey Luxe.

The reason I am such a big fan is because the slips seem to be “just right” in almost every area.  The materials used are comfortable, durable, and sexy. The cuts skim your figure juuust right. The styles are gorgeous enough, but classic enough, to be attractive for years. And the prices, while they aren’t cheap, are very reasonable considering the quality you get for your money. My only complaint is that the color schemes are usually neutrals, like ivory, black, white, or light pink. I wish some exciting colors were mixed in more often!

While partial to their slips, that isn’t all the company makes. They have camisoles, pettipants, rompers, half-slips, full slips, robes, and sleepwear in silk, microfiber, lace, georgette, cotton, and anti-cling charmeuse (developed exclusively for Farr West).

(Don’t you just love that half slip with the chiffon flounce? I may have to place an order…)

TLP: Nicole, can you introduce yourself to our readers?
My name is Nicole Gill and I graduated last year from De Montfort University with a BA honors degree in Fashion and Contour Design. Since graduating, I have spent my time designing my new collection as well as gaining help from the Princes Trust in order to start my own business. My bespoke line specializes in authentic steel corsetry and luxury design pieces; I chose to use elegant silks and laces. Each item is handmade to exact measurements to ensure that the body is shaped to perfection with a cinched waist and a beautiful silhouette.

TLP: Can you tell us a little about your first collection?
My first collection is based upon Alice’s Tea Party; with the use of pale pinks and charcoal shades the collection captures the cuteness that a tea party deserves. Tight laced corsets with frills and chiffon detailing characterize this selection of one of a kind pieces. This collection was shown at Alternative Fashion Week on Thursday 22nd April in London Spital Fields Market.

I absolutely love the beautiful and sophisticated look of Nicole’s first collection. I had a hard time selecting just a couple photos – so enjoy a big big batch below!

Like I said before, a much more intimate and vintage-styled collection. When I saw the first photos I was extremely impressed, and taking a closer look at some of these pieces I am just in love with them.

The items have kept the girdling properties which made them such a hit while at the same time releasing the body from its constraints thanks to flexible and stretch materials such as mesh or voile fabric. The mousseline suspender belt body suit makes the structure of the garment visible while highlighting the curves of the body. The classically inspired pieces are redesigned to create outfits which are original and yet seem so familiar. An example is the jaw-dropping traditional waspie to which a G-string is attached (see pic below!). Absolutely gorgeous – judge for yourself!

The whole idea behind ELSE is the effort to make a woman feel glamorous, confident and comfortable while carrying a special set of lingerie. This what makes “ELSE” something ELSE. Taking inspiration from vintage romanticism and moonlit seduction, Ma Mignonnette celebrates an old-world love for opulence and elegant craftsmanship. Soft cups, extreme detailing and a look that reminds me a lot of Spanish designer Andres Sarda – and even though Patrizia Pepe is not a dedicated lingerie designer – a very versatile collection that according to my sources at Patrizia Pepe only gets updated once a year…

The brand also has a small loungewear line, which I do find a little less exciting…
