Channel your inner vixen this Fall as Affinitas Intimates shows us their dark side with a seductive Fall/Winter 2010 Collection.  A rich color palette of dark blues give the collection an enigmatic feel, while pops of fuchsia and pink keep pieces fun and flirty.  Jewel, tassel and bow embellishments compliment lace paneling and intricate embroidery, seen against solids in addition to animal and paisley prints. The newest addition to the empire is Hanky Panky After Midnight which we first featured back in April.  This edgy and sexy collection, for the “Erotic Hour,” combines the comfort and fit the brand is known for with a bit of a kick!  See below for an in depth look into a few of the ranges in the collection.

In the Signature Lace range, both the low rise thong and the cheeky hipster feature an open crotch (yes, you read correctly!) with the hipster also having a keyhole back.  To complete the look – a matching peek-a-boo bralette.  Sexy!  If you can handle the heat, go ahead and throw on the corresponding garter belt.

Other options experiment with different fabrics including tulle and lace.  The Stretch Tulle range features mix and match tops and bottoms.  On top, choose from a chemise, corset cami (my fave), or a bralette.  On the bottom, a bikini, g-string, or high rise brief.  Or, buy them all and mix and match accordingly!  The Peek-a-Boo Lace collection is sexy in a vintage sort of way.  I absolutely adore the garter brief!  Classic.  The corresponding bra is also unique.  The soft cup bra gives a lovely shape and the allure of a contrasting wire without an actual wire.

My favorite overall range would have to be the Nude Illusion range.  I love the look of nude contrasted with black.  Very sophisticated!  But sophisticated can also be saucy.  Nude Illusion includes a Peek-a-Boo Bralette, Open-Crotch G-String, and Open-Crotch Bikini.

Over a one month period, voters of all shapes and sizes anonymously participated in the awards, which cover bras, panties and shapewear for women, and mens underwear including boxers and briefs.

Now in their fourth year, the Undie Awards are designed to celebrate all things lingerie. In addition to encouraging voters to nominate their preferred pair for greatness, the awards also seek to highlight staff picks via “select” winners in each category.

Voters in the awards were asked to “let (their) body type do the voting” by entering their age range and height and then characterizing their body type, based on – (for the women) – bra and panty sizes as well as bust, tummy and bottom type OR – (for the men) – chest and waist type as well as waist size.

The site featured drop-down menus which enabled voters to quickly select their favorite brand and style. Voters also had the option of writing-in their favorite underwear, if it was not listed.

“Participating in the Undie Awards provides women and men with real peer-to-peer information they can use to select the right fit and style, in tops and bottoms,” said Tomima Edmark, lingerie & undergarment expert. “The awards also introduce voters to brands they might be unfamiliar with, especially via the ‘select’ winner categories, which are determined by our staff as a way of highlighting smaller brands deserving of the spotlight.”

This year’s Favorite Overall Bra (Average Figure) is the Vanity Fair Body Sleeks Flexi Back Close, Racerback Bra 75263. This is the first time a racerback has won in this category! The winning bra features seamless microfiber cups that are invisible beneath clothing. It also features a unique and comfortable “cross-over” racerback design that provides support, moves with you, and looks great under racerback tops and tanks. Sizes range from 34B to 40D.

The Favorite Overall Bra (Full Figure) is the Goddess Keira Banded Underwire Bra 6090. Women chose this bra because it’s super comfortable and has a terrific fit. Alego focuses on flirty fashion basics  that aim to be glamorous as well as comfortable. So how does lingerie this pretty stay comfortable? Alegro says they use flat lying elastic straps (double spaghetti as well as full comfort), two and three-hook back closures, powernet bands, and unique underwire casings. But despite all that, it’s pretty clear that a lot of Alegro lingerie is designed for serious seduction!

The Alegro Lingerie Facebook page says, “Each style has been uniquely designed to offer support and style while all remaining truly glamorous. The collections are designed using our new concept of mixing East meets West design.” It sounds like there is a fast turnaround too – there are new designs every month!

Panties cost $13-$45 and bras are $42-$75. I haven’t found the brand in any boutiques or on any websites outside of HerRoom, but the brand is slated to become more widespread in Spring 2010.
