The result of that decision is the quirky, fantastical, Wundaland collection inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. Here are some images from the collection’s photoshoot – it looks like so much fun!

The 1950’s-inspired bridal lingerie set is absolutely stunning in ivory silk with brocade panels, comprising of a balconette bra, cincher girdle and brief. The underwired bra features brocade and pintuck quilted cups, ruched silk straps and gold hardware. The steel-boned lace-back cincher girdle sits under the bust and provides an excellent waist reduction whilst also shaping the hips, with quilted and brocade panels and detatchable ruched suspender straps. The unique waistcoated bra, suspender belt and brief set is handmade from ivory pure silk and brocade with pintuck quilting to create a luxurious ensemble – a must-have for any lingerie connoisseur! This attention-grabbing futuristic ensemble is FairyGothMother’s absolute favourite, available in black silk with pintuck quilting. The underwired plunge bra has quilted panels on the cups and fits perfectly with the steel-boned girdle corset, designed to cinch the waist whilst also shaping the hips and tummy for maximum impact. The designer, currently in her 4th year, has launched her spring summer 2009 collection using the finest and most delicate trims sourced locally from the old lace mills in Nottingham, UK.

‘Once graduating from Central Saint Martins I found the lack of fashion opportunities in the UK disheartening. Many of the old lace mills and factories closed due to the trade being moved to the Far East as a cheaper alternative’.

The latest collection includes vintage inspirited silk camisoles, tap pants and all in one teddy. These are all trimmed with hand crafted cotton laces made in one of the last lace mills in the UK, also renowned for making the lace for Princess Diana’s wedding dress.

All pieces from the collection are made in house by the designer and her small team using traditional sewing methods, assuring each piece is made with loving care and is of the highest quality.

You can order collections from their online boutique, and they also take special requests. You can contact Gilda & Pearl if you want a change to the fabric, style, or size of existing designs. If you want a bow removed, or a change of the ribbon color, they can probably meet your requests so you have wonderfully unique pieces. HMSlatex has been around since 2006. At first, the founder began creating latex clothes for herself to wear while modeling. After she got great feedback and requests for custom creations, she decided to open up shop. There is no lack of lace, ruffles, or satin roses in this shop! Sarah, the woman behind the shop, hand-makes, dyes, and hand-finishes vintage and vintage-inspired lingerie. Perfect for burlesque stars or just those who wish they were, Vintage Opulence offers extremely feminine bras, girdles, corselettes, bustiers, and waist cinchers in colors like dusty rose, powder blue, lilac, and ecru. I own one of the lacey waist cinchers in lilac and I love it! I am seriously considering the scarlet and ecru waist cincher, because it looks like a perfectly glamorous fit for these winter months. Vintage Opulence is relatively new on Etsy, but be sure to keep this one bookmarked – there will be a whole bunch of new pieces up soon!

Cheesecake Burlesque is like an overstuffed candy store for anyone who likes pasties and nipple tassels. With over 100 different designs, any girl would be hard-pressed to visit the shop without finding something she liked! There are the traditional burlesque styles made of sequins and tassels, but there are also the unexpected ones inspired by Betty Boop, seashells, strawberries, Hello Kitty, yin yangs, furry monsters, ducks, and much more. I can’t possibly describe them all, so you owe it to yourself to make a visit to the Cheesecake Burlesque shop and have a look for yourself. The shop supports The Cheesecake Burlesque Revue, a troop based in British Columbia, Canada. This is a great place to buy your first set of pasties or tassels, as each purchase includes tassel twirling tips, application instructions, cleaning instructions, common problem solutions, specialty double-sided tape, and a Cheesecake Burlesque collector card. In the Autumn of 2006, Andrea (34) felt she needed a new direction and decided to create her own lingerie brand. As she had limited experience of designing lingerie, she embraced the challenge and set about furthering her knowledge. Having spent the next 18 months researching the industry and working hard on her developing brand, she finally created two limited edition collections – for Christmas 2008 (Evangeline, photo on the right) and Valentine’s 2009 (Virgin Queen) as a taster, before the launch of the Spring/Summer 2009 collection – ‘Paris’.

A limited edition of just 50 sets, ‘Evangeline’, a sinfully seductive balconette bra and knicker set is now available from Peacock & Strutt. The soft black semi-transparent mesh reverse of the knickers gives a cheeky rear view, whilst the bra makes the most of a lady’s curves. With silk lined cups, the bra feels as luxurious on the inside as it looks sexy on the outside.

Andrea says about her name-carrying label: “I wanted to create luxury lingerie that appeals to a broad spectrum of tastes and moods; from sensual to provocative, daring to feminine… lingerie that can be worn behind the bedroom door or flaunted in public.””

UPDATE: Tina has told TLP that her tablewear has taken off and she is focusing on that aspect of Undergrowth for now5, so these lingerie pieces are not being produced.

Pricing is not outrageous, handmade sets start at +/- £90 ($180) – knickers at £35 ($70).
