Also back are the halter bras we saw last year. Still very new to bra designing, Lousie Coughlan and Nicola Thomas are already getting a signature style going — and that’s a good thing in a competitive market such as ours…  Their goal was to create “a contemporary look that combines suggestive silhouettes, a vibrant colour palette and delicious prints”. Judge for yourself (pics below!) — I think they’ve succeeded!

And what does bra-size separates mean? It refers to the unique concept that swimwear tops should be made the same as bras instead of flimsy one-size-fits-all type designs.

Finding it difficult to purchase bathing suits for her own 32DD bustline, Aerin decided that she must create her own designs to ensure that all amply busted women had the opportunity to feel good and look good in their swimwear. Thus, she now sells a substantial collection of bikinis, tankinis, triangle tops, and halter tops that cater to D-cups. Further, the line is offered in wireless, underwire, maternity and plus sizes.

An excellent example of the bra-sized concept is the Arabesque fixed triangle bikini top with hidden underwire which provides proper support, holding the bust in at the sides creating a slimmer line. The one piece Madagascar shirred halter top with plunge neckline also offers plenty of support while being very sexy.

Aerin Rose manufactures the swimwear in the US using imported fabrics of colourful prints and basic solid colours. The size chart is quite detailed with many cup sizes including DDD, F and G. Tops and matching bottoms are sold separately for best fit. With a varied selection of bottoms, the fashion conscious woman may choose from “scoop” bikinis, string side-ties, “tini” bikinis, side rings, high waisted briefs, and skirted or pleated bottoms. Plus sizes also include a short A-line skirt and a longer knee-length flutter skirt.

Without doubt, a considerable amount of thought and planning has gone into the Aerin Rose line of swimwear. Whatever niche the customer requires, maternity, plus size, or bigger busted, each suit is elegant in design, gorgeous to view, and classy but sexy enough to look spectacular on the beach.

That was four years ago and 2008 brings a new theme of dirt bikes and Motocross racing. While most bikini labels aim to be the skimpiest or the sexiest or the boldest, KGB focuses on the image of young women being strong, determined, gutsy and knowing what they want accepting nothing less. Thus, Motocross biking was chosen as the theme because the sport is difficult, demanding and inspiring. The underlying notion is that young people should not give up and should aspire to achieve their goals and dreams.

The current collection is characterized by exciting, bold prints, huge metal adornments such as the side rings on the bikini bottoms, and precision cuts in the fabric to enhance and define the body. One thing that is very striking about this collection is the fact that the bikinis are not skimpy by most standards. The cuts of the legs of the bottoms provide ample coverage and the cuts on the tops are just enough to show a hint of breast.

Bikini tops come in bandeau, halter styling, string closures, bra tops with accent coloring bands and straps, keyhole center tops tied around the neck and long sash like ribbons tied at the back of the top. Aside from the black boots, the bike chains and bike tires that the models wear or carry, there is nothing rough and tough about this bikini collection. On the contrary, the colors are bright, upbeat and ready for the sunshine, the designs are elegant and modest, and the look is quite sexy and appealing.

Lastly, something should be mentioned about the brand’s history. K,G and B are actually the initials of the young woman behind the label. The daughter of Tara Grinna, Kirsti Grinna comes from a family of expert swimwear makers. Her mother Tara, well respected for her beautiful haute couture swimwear, and maternal grandmother, Eleanor Langley, established La Plage Swimwear. Tara went into partnership with her mother and her husband joined the business as well. It is therefore no surprise that Kirsti would launch her own bathing suit lines.

I’m a bit dissapointed in the styles the cooltan.com website has to offer, but that was to be expected. Time for the more stylish labels to pick up this fabric and turn it into sexy swimwear!
