Fall/Winter 2010-11 “Midnight Radio”

Timeless and versatile – Wundervoll stays true to its style with Fall/Winter 2010-11. The new collection dazzles with an attractive combination of soft silk jersey, amazon-like forms and fine colours. Finely applied cord embroidery creates nostalgic contours and defines the wearer’s form perfectly.

One of the highlights of the collection is a special classic: Sonic Teddy, a nostalgic body with crisscross, adjustable straps and additional bodysuit fastener. Wundervoll’s typical high-waistline panties (Radio Pants) also pick up on the label’s distinctive style in the fall/winter collection 2010/2011, offering a perfect combination to the wonderful tops. This combination of pieces is designed to make it as easy as possible for the wearer – by means of a uniform appearance in design that is present throughout the entire collection.

The new Spring/Summer Collection 2010 combines the typical Wundervoll understatement with new impulses and trends that emphasize strong, self-confident femininity with exciting contours and dynamic forms. “Each new collection is something special to us”, says label founder Matthias Jaschke. “For the Spring/Summer Collection 2010, we stay true to our demands of clear designs and fine details, while setting new trends with innovative, sustainable materials.”

Exotic “African tribal art” and the “art deco style” form the source of inspiration for the new Wundervoll collection, which combines the elegance of form with precious materials and the sensuality of these themes. The geometric surfaces are an attractive eye-catcher, accentuated with piping trim that create structure and lend the design particularly vibrant impulses.

One new feature of this collection is the material Biophyl. Biophyl is obtained from a renewable resource (corn) and during manufacturing it produces an extremely low level of CO2 emissions (63% less than with nylon). The slightly sheer, net-like material is pleasantly soft on the skin and extremely stretchable, which makes it quite comfortable to wear and at the same time very easy to care for. The linear and dynamic shapes of the Soft Bra with its optional halter neck, wireless Triangle Bra and Balconette Bra with straps that can criss-cross, as well as the French knickers, hipsters, and the characteristic Wundervoll high-waist panties, all accentuate the embroidered diamond pattern.

Further models such as the Soft Bra, Shell Bra and Bra Top, as well as various panty designs are all produced from wonderfully fine silk jersey that provides luxurious sheen and beautiful draping, and all of them can be mixed and matched with one another. Thanks to weak dollar – prices are actually a little more affordable than what us Europeans are paying for Wundervoll. Maybe it’s worth the shipping – I’m not sure – but it’s worth checking that out!

Wundervoll has taken on the challenge of designing lingerie for modern women who demand high quality. The elaborate artistry of the collection items captivate with clear design and noble details. The brand has deep roots. Matthias Jaschkes’ grandparents started a linen factory decades ago. Matthias combines his family’s long history with quality textiles and the styles of Berlin. Jaschke has said, “Our look has become more courageous and sophisticated, of course while still maintaining Wundervoll’s typical understatement.” Nearly all of the pieces are made from pure silk with bits of lycra and organic cotton. Sizes are still pretty limited with bras offered in 32A to 36C and knickers in sizes 2-8. Looking at the pictures from the current Fall/Winter 2008/09 collection, it is easy to see how Wundervoll is wearable and insanely alluring at the same time. Made of fine, natural, silk jersey, the collection of 20 pieces is clearly fashion-oriented with high-waisted “Boogie Briefs” and the “Rock ‘n’ Roll” balconette bra. The absence of color keeps the focus squarely on the construction and design of each garment. Soft bras are available in A and B cups, balconette bras are available in US sizes 32A-36C, and everything else is available in S-L sizes.

The upcoming Spring/Summer 2009 collection stays true to the aesthetic set by the inaugural collection. Jaschke says of the collection,

“The Spring/Summer collection 2009 surprises with new fabrics, wonderful colors and a variety of new creations. With this collection, we have completely lived up to our claim of combining the highest quality and perfect fit with feminine shapes.”

This new collection includes 21 pieces in certified-organic cotton as well as the silk jersey from the previous season. This cotton is woven with 10% Lyrca for a good fit. The bras, knickers, camisoles, and loungewear feature details such as braiding, contrast trim, metal rings, and double button rows similar to the Fall/Winter collection.  This collection (which will be available from January 2009) brings subdued color into the mix with shades such as papyrus, macadamia, cacao, ecru, black, and rose. Bras come in sizes 32A-36C and everything else comes in US sizes 6-12/GB sizes 8-14.
