This photo was taken soon after Amy Winehouse had gotten breast implants and I’m sure she wanted to show them off but…this probably isn’t the best way to rock the “underwear as outerwear” trend!

The 21-year old’s picture was on the mosaic ad formed with thousands of images of women in the new range, with the tagline “D-G. Because we’re more than a handful.”The problem came after Wonderbra picked her. Green broke the contract with Wonderbra when she was asked to lose two stone and drop from a UK size 12 to a size 8-10. The size 30F beauty said of the news, “I really didn’t know where my career was going to go after the depression of being told I was too fat…Had I lost the two stone, I would have looked like a bag of bones. I won’t sacrifice my health.”

Despite her weight being too much for Wonderbra, Ultimo snapped Green up immediately. Michelle Mone, creator of Ultimo, said,

“I was appalled to hear that Katie was told she was too fat to model lingerie. She has an Katie Green for Ultimoincredible shape and represents real women throughout the UK. We’re delighted to have her on board – I’m sure she’ll be a huge success and a wonderful ambassador for Ultimo…Katie’s figure is beautiful and she looks so sexy in our latest designs.”

It looks like Wonderbra really screwed up this time. If you want a thinner model, why hold a competition to find a more full-figured woman?

Quite an unusual look for Dita at the beginning of the film but I think it’s a huge success — and I’m assuming labguys all over the world wouldn’t mind having her around on a daily basis… ;)

Dita says of the film: “It’s a really fun film and represents a stripped down but exaggerated version of my real life: I was a little blonde growing up in a farming community, there wasn’t a lot of glamour there and I felt very ordinary and plain. Lingerie is one of the things that came into play when I was starting to create my own mystique and glamour.”

She added: “Finding your inner-sexiness is about finding your comfort zone and hopefully this collection of lingerie will help you do that.”

Well, now we have some more information and pictures! The gorgeous “Wonderbra by Dita Von Teese” collection is the first time in Wonderbra’s history that a celebrity has created an exclusive range with the company. Dita, perhaps the most famous burlesque dancer in the world, included garter belts, panties, and bras in her collection (with an unsurprising nod to retro fashions). The star says of her saucy underpinnings:

“I am very proud of the lingerie that I’ve created for Wonderbra, because it has all the beautiful detail of sexy, sensual and glamorous lingerie, but the fit is perfect to wear under your everyday clothes. I love it when you can go about your daily business with the knowledge that you have a little secret of your own on underneath.“

Inspired by 1940s and 1950s Hollywood glamour, the collection includes a bra with a top-wire design that was popular in the fifties. The drop-dead sexy styles also anticipate how your man will react when he sees you in them – some of the panties and bras have quick-release magnetic clasps so you can get them off as quickly and easily as possible (Wonderbra promises that this detail will make “daring stripteases a cinch”)! But Dita is quick to say that men’s reactions aren’t the most important thing about her collection:

“Lingerie shouldn’t be something you just put on for your lover; you should do it for you…It’s not about seducing men, it’s about embracing womanhood.”

I think both women and men will be able to appreciate styles like this:

Earlier this year, Wonderbra Britain launched a catchy video in which they call the female breasts watermelons, jugs, puppies, coconuts, cupcakes, knockers, pillows, horns, eggs and other boob related names.

** By the way ladies, you really have to watch and listen to this quick video. It is only twenty-five seconds long but the tune is addicting and the connotations are downright hilarious! **

The ad was actually the lead-in campaign and casting call for models for the new mosaic poster unveiled this week with approximately three thousand women in bras. Wonderbra was looking for down to earth ladies and the idea behind the campaign was specifically that companies needed to be closer to their customers by involving them directly. A few celebrities, Jessica Hinds, Debra Stephensen and Carol McGiffin are also seen in the poster that has been created in order to help launch and bring awareness to Wonderbra’s larger size cups in D to G.

In addition to the actual photo shoot, that proved to be the biggest underwear photo session in Britain, women were encouraged to send in their photos if they were not able to attend. And Wonderbra is very frank about this recent endeavour boldly stating “we were looking for as many girls as we could to create the biggest collection of boobs ever seen”. For those living in Central London, you will be lucky enough to see the real billboard. For those of us in other areas, we can view the online version of “The BIG REVEAL”.

If you want to get your hands on it, I’d suggest buying them now, because this suggests the balconnette style won’t be made again!

Good news! That time has come! Figleaves UK has just announced that the site has begun stocking this range. Right now only the Everyday T-Shirt and the Everyday Strapless bras are available, but the Wonderbra website has pictures of two more glamorous styles sure to be available soon (the website has “Buy Now” buttons, but they are misleading! I can’t find any site that stocks these yet).

While every woman wants to look her best, not every woman wants extra padding. Especially D-G women! These bras are unlike traditional Wonderbras in that they do not have padding to increase your bustline. Instead, this line is intended to give bustier ladies a great sexy shape under clothing. If any of you have tried any of these bras let, please let us know in the forums. I still have to wait a bit longer – mine is one of the few sizes Figleaves doesn’t have in stock yet! :(
