Ultimo Wants YOU to Model Their Lingerie!

If you have dreamed of joining the ranks of Kelly Brook, Peaches Geldof, and Melanie Brown by modeling for Ultimo, now is your chance! Ultimo has launched a model search, and they are looking for 24 “real” women like you and me with all sorts of backgrounds, bodies, and shapes. The winners will win a trip to London for a professional photoshoot, and will walk away with 6 months worth of Ultimo lingerie. And, of course, the campaign will be showcased in national media and Debenhams stores.

Michelle Mone commented to Herald Scotland on the decision:

Uneven Breasts? Use Adjustable-Padding Bras!

One of the most common bra-fitting questions women have is something like, “My breasts are uneven, and I want to even them out.” Sound like you? One of the easiest ways to do this is by looking for adjustable-padding bras. These bras have removable pads so you can give your smaller breast more padding than your larger breast. Here are a few options:

La Senza’s Movable Gel Push Up Bra features customized gel pads that you can remove or move from one cup to the other. In solid colors and with smooth lines, it looks like a great everyday bra. It is available at LaSenza.com and select La Senza stores in Canada.

For something a bit prettier, the Jezebel Coco bra, Wacoal Petite Embrace Lace bra, and Chantelle Courtisane bra are so pretty and have removable push-up pads. All three are available at Bare Necessities.

For special occasions, Ultimo has a Miracle Solution Strapless Multiway Bra with removable gel cookies.

You can even find swimwear with removable padding, like these suits from Bond-Eye (both available at Figleaves).

If you want to find more, visit your favorite lingerie retailer’s website and search for “removable pad” – but be sure to read the description before buying to make sure your bra of choice has adjustable padding!

Ultimo Founder Makes Queen’s New Year Honors List

Michelle Mone, founder of Ultimo Lingerie, is among the list of lucky people to be included in Queen Elizabeth II’s 2009 New Year Honors list. She was named as an Officer of the Order of the British Empire, or OBE, which is the fourth best rank in the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, an order of chivalry.

Mone was named an OBE for her services to businesses in the lingerie industry. “I’m absolutely thrilled, honored and delighted,” she told the Daily Record. “When I left school at 15 years old, I would never have dreamed that I would be recognized this way.”

New Bras Offer Alternative to Plastic Surgery

So it seems large knockers are still all the rage. But instead of running out to that creepy plastic surgeon in Mexico that will give you 50 percent off the surgery, there are three new bras out on the market that could give you the illusion of larger breasts in a safe and fast manner.

One of the options is the new “Miraculous Push-up” by Victoria’s Secret. Not only does it instantly add two cup sizes to the breasts, VS also says the contrast will give the illusion of a smaller waist. The bra comes with convertible straps, so it can be worn under strapless, backless and halter dresses.

Pink Jubilee, Sizes AA-DD. (U.S. sizes) $45.

A second option is Ultimo’s new “Day-Night Bra,” which also claims to add two cup sizes in seconds. The bra comes with two insertable silicone pouches that can be removed during the day while you’re at work, and then put back in later if you’re headed out and want that extra volume.

I wish I had more information for you guys on this third option, but I couldn’t find out who this bra’s maker is. I do, however, have a video illustrating exactly what this inflatable bra does and how you can increase your cup size into a B, C or D by the mere push of a button. According to some people on the Internet who speak a bit of Mandarin, the bra is called “She’s Mine” and it uses an advanced Japanese-developed technology, which they call “God’s hand,” to function.

Miss Ultimo Autumn/Winter 2009

Ultimo is making a tribute to arguably one of the most vivacious cities in the world with the launch of the 2009 Las Vegas-inspired autumn/winter collection of its youngest line Miss Ultimo. Like the line’s first range, which debuted earlier this year, the collection is modeled by English socialite Peaches Gedolf, who has been quoted saying working with Miss Ultimo is “fun and exciting.” One thing’s for sure, this range is just as adorable and edgy as the first!

Luckily, the styles are also moderately-priced and range from £8 to £18 (about $14 to $29). The pieces will be available for purchasing at Ultimo’s website and at Debenhams. Thanks to Ultimo for these images!

Founder of Ultimo Designs Luxury Items for Tesco

Michelle Mone, the founder of Ultimo, has designed a luxury lingerie range exclusive to UK-based store Tesco called Diamond Boutique. And in true Tesco fashion, the pieces offer a great value with items selling for as little as £7 a pop.

“I’m so proud to have produced something that’s so accessibly priced, but doesn’t comprise on quality or fit,” said Mone. (pictured left)

Coming in sizes 32A to 38D for bras and 8 to 18 for briefs, Diamond Boutique features charming styles made with satin, silk and lace. English singer Jessica Taylor (pictured right) has been tapped to be the face and body of the brand.

“I love the new collection, it’s so pretty and really, really luxurious,” said Taylor. “Every woman loves beautiful lingerie and feeling fabulous, and the new Diamond Boutique collection delivers on both counts! The designs from the new range are incredibly stylish, but without the designer price tag.”

Ultimo’s Lingerie on Rollercoasters

There are certain situations where you know you need secure support – basically, any time you’re going to be moving a lot! We’ve seen HerRoom bounce test their sports bras, but Ultimo took bra testing to the extreme when they had their models not run or jump, but ride rollercoasters in Ultimo bras! This promotional video, shot at the Alton Towers Resort, shows models on the rides wearing nothing but their Ultimo lingerie to prove that the brand offers bras that support well and prevent accidental exposure.

Morwenna Angove, Sales and Marketing Director for the Alton Towers Resort, said, “Whilst we understand that in warmer climates women will wear skimpier clothing, the tests show that well-fitted brassieres such as those from the Ultimo range will help to control the risk of further unprecedented exposures in the future.”

The fresh new Miss Ultimo range (by Ultimo, of course) is now available! It is exclusively modeled by Peaches Geldof (who we’ve seen before modeling for Agent Procovateur), who said:

Ultimo Picks Up Wonderbra’s Model

Katie Green was the winner of Wonderbra’s recent search to find a “real woman” spokesmodel for the new D-G range. The 21-year old’s picture was on the mosaic ad formed with thousands of images of women in the new range, with the tagline “D-G. Because we’re more than a handful.”The problem came after Wonderbra picked her. Green broke the contract with Wonderbra when she was asked to lose two stone and drop from a UK size 12 to a size 8-10. The size 30F beauty said of the news, “I really didn’t know where my career was going to go after the depression of being told I was too fat…Had I lost the two stone, I would have looked like a bag of bones. I won’t sacrifice my health.”

Despite her weight being too much for Wonderbra, Ultimo snapped Green up immediately. Michelle Mone, creator of Ultimo, said,

“I was appalled to hear that Katie was told she was too fat to model lingerie. She has an incredible shape and represents real women throughout the UK. We’re delighted to have her on board – I’m sure she’ll be a huge success and a wonderful ambassador for Ultimo…Katie’s figure is beautiful and she looks so sexy in our latest designs.”

It looks like Wonderbra really screwed up this time. If you want a thinner model, why hold a competition to find a more full-figured woman?
